2 Sisters Crazed
With Bad Liquor
PORTLAND, July 30. (United
NewB) Seventeen bottles ot moon
shine, the apparent consumption of
which brought two sisters to the
verge of delirium tremens, were re
sponsible for excitement at . Nine
teenth and Washington streets on
Wednesday afternoon.
. Irene HnHmnn. one of the sisters,
stumbled and fell out of the window
ot her second floor room. She seised
an electric light wire, to which she
clung, screaming and swinging in
her nightgown, while hundreds ran
to tho scene. She finally let go,
striking on her face on the concrcto
wnlk. She lay there in a pool of
blood for some minutes while tho
emergency doctor at police head
quarters was on his way.
The injured woman was removed
to St. Vincent's hospital, but at
tendants and patients there, unable
to ' stand '.her screams, transferred
her to police headquarters.
. Her sister,. Betty, 19, believing
Irene to bo dead, had to be re
strained from throwing herself from
