Gene Henry of the Bly Rodeo
association, stated last night that
the directors of the big wild west
show, scheduled .for July 2nd,
3rd and 4th, were anxious for
Klamath people to begin wearing
their seven-gallon hats and loud
shirts, thus advertising to the
world the coming rodeo, which
he claims will be the best ever
held In southern Oregon.
The crowds going out of town
on the various Sunday ball trips
could put over the most affective
advertising by wearing rodeo togs,
according to Henry.
A number of the directors of
the Bly show will make the trip
to Prinevllle the latter part . of
this week to get in direct touch
with the star round-up perform
ers who are scheduled to take
part in the American Legion state
convention show. . Every one of
these luminaries will be brought
here, unless all signs tall, ac
cording to the Bly people.
CONCESSION MAN HERE
Sam Corrnson of San Francisco,
who will head tho concessions for
the Bly Rodeo association, returned
south after spending several days
here In the Interest of the company.
The amusements will arrive from
the south by July 1 and there will
be four days of celebration.

HARTFORD, Conn.. June 15.
(United News) Governor John H.
Trumbull late today ordered the
entire Connecticut national guard
to mobilize and be ready for duty
at 7 o'clock in Connecticut's own
private "defense day." Trumbull's
order was issued at 5:30 in the
afternoon and was the first indica
tion that a mobilization was pend
ing. It affected all of the infantry,
artillery, cavalry and airplane units,
a force of about 4500 men.
The Action of the Connecticut
governor was the outcome of a dif
ference with the government over
the advisability of holding "defense
test day" on July . Trumbull de
clined to co-operate with the war de
partment on the ground that the
tests would Interfere" with the va
cation and holiday' plans of citizens.
. Trumbull contended that a "test"
announced several weeks In advance
was not a real test of the strength
of the nation's fighting units.
There was no parading nor speech
making tonight. The men gathered
hurriedly at their various armories,
the majority of them arriving with
in the time limit set by the governor.
t They fell in and went through
inspection,, were alloted field equip
ment, and made ready to go into
a possible "action." .
The men were to be dismissed at
midnight. . ' . . .
