their Interesting summer home for

Agency Lake Friday afternoon when

joyable season of parties at summer

urday morning by Mrs. Roland
Wright. Tbe meeting on June 8,

rooms at 2:30 p. m. with Mrs. Ro
land Wright reviewing the Inter
esting autobiography of Mark Twain.
Mrs. Del Gammon, who Is chair
man of the literary department Is
especially anxious for a good turn
out at the meeting for the pur
pose of outlining the work for next
year.

part of the week for Roseburg
where she plans to visit with friends

summer. Mrs. Perry is taking the
much needed vacation following an

Astoria and Corvallls and perhaps
motoring to Seattle next month.

on Auburn street, Hot Springs ad
dition, was the scene of a pretty
bridge party Friday. The houBe
was decorated In spring flowers
and five tables were In play during
the afternoon. Highest score was
made by Mrs. Fred Dunbar, who
was awarded first prize, second
prize to Mrs. H. E. Hauger end
consolation prize to Mrs. Hardin
Carter. At the close of the game
refreshments were served by the

Before the pupil of the Pelican
Bay school Major O. 8. Newsom Fri
day delivered a splendid address on
the beauty, dignity and power of
the American flag. The little
youngsters lent their ears and fair-:.
ly tingled with patriotism during '
the address. The children of the
primary department, sang several
numbers, the intermediate depart
ment gave a toast to the flag, and
several readings were given by the
advanced department.
