stumpage rates payable for each spe

tion rate In effect for that species
when the unamortized estimated cost
of the main haul roads has been amor
tied by timber scaled. The unamor
tized estimated cost Is $7,463.00. Amor
tlialion rales are: Ponderosa pine and
western white pine. $3 37 per M board
feel; Shasta Red fir, 10.90 per M board
feeti and White fir and Other Species,
10.45 per M board feet. Amortization
of estimated main haul road costs Is
computed on SO percent of the estimat
ed timber volume. In addition there is
within the sale area an urtes time ted
volume of Older Oead (Unsound Sap
wood) timber, ponderosa pine,
which wt'.l be paid tor at $1.00 per M
board feel which Includes required de
posit for sale area belterment, plus
10.00 for slash disposal. In addition
there Is also within the sale area an

Indices as calculated by the Forest
Service at the end of each calendar
quarter, and the following base In
dices: Ponderosa pine and Western
while pine, 84-21; Shasta Red fir,
62.33; White fir and Other Species,
63.23; Sugar pine, 109,67. Such adust
mants In the price tor slumpage shall
be applicable to timber scaled during
the calendar quarter (or which the ad
justment Is computed. In no event,
however, shall the payment rales lor
each quarter be less than the base
rales as stated above. When the ad
justed rales by species are lower than
the bast rates, the difference between
the total dollar valut of timber cut at
ad us ted rates and at base rales will
be recorded for each species. The
stumpage rates for any species will
not be Increased above the base rate
until the subsequent adjusted rates
above bast rales develop an accumu
lated total dollar value In excess of
the recorded accumulated difference
for all species. Sealed bids will be
publicly opened and posted, at Klam
ath County Library Building, Klamath
Palls, Oregon, at 2:00 p.m., Pacific
Standard Time on December 10,
1963. All those who submitted a satis
factory sealed bid will be permitted
Immediately to continue auction bid
ding. A money order, bank draft, cash
