ath Falls residents since 1932, observed their 35th wed
ding anniversary on Sept. I. The open house was a sur
prise, arranged by their children.

Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Jack,
(Geneva I Bonham, Newark, Calif.
Also present was Mrs. Swift's
mother. Mrs. May (Granny) Bell,
this city.
The children presented their
parents with matched gold wed
ding bands engraved with minia-j
ture hearts.
To carry out the theme of sweet
hearts and the coral and jade
year, the four tiered cake, baked
and decorated by Thelma Johnson
had a base of four heart shaped
layers holding the fourth one on
which were the numerals 35, cir
cled with coral rosettes and
swectpeas, accented with green
Mrs. Bcttv Boscs assisted Mrs
Bonham. Mrs. Gwen Swift and
Mrs. Johnson at the refreshment
table.

Mr. and Mrs. Swift were mar
ried in Mineral Spring, Tex
and nave made their home m
Klamath Falls since 1932. He hasj
barbered here for 30 years andj
operated his own shop for 19
years. Both are active in lodges.
Mrs. Swift is a member of Aloha
Chapter, OES, White Shrine and
Amaranth. Her husband is a York
Rite Mason.
The couple were greeted by their
many friends and relatives dur
ing the afternoon party hours. Also
they received numerous cards
and calls from out of town friends.

ANNOUNCED Mr. and Mrs. Dorman L. Spiker an
nounce the engagement of their daughter, Lowella Esta,
to Larry Jones, son ot Mr. and Mrs. James Jones. Both
families reside in Klamath Falls. Their wedding will be an
event of Nov. 2 in Stewart-Lenox Baptist Church. The
future bride is a graduate of Klamath Union High School.
Her fiance is employed by Nyback's Flowers.

ATTENTION, LADY ELKS The party all lady Elks have awaited is set for Wednes
day, Oct, 9, at 7:45 p.m. in the Elks Lodge. A beautiful style show from Fashion Villa
and delicious dessert planned by the officers' wives will be followed by bridge and
pinochle. Mrs. Robert Craig, wife of the exalted ruler, heads the committee in charge.
Katie Lake will be commentator of the show and models will be her OTI students. Res
ervations should be called to the Elks Lodge. Guests are asked to bring their own play

Naomi Shrine
A colorful ceremonial and a din
ner ushered in the fall season for
Naomi Shrine No. 5, Order of the
White Shrine of Jerusalem, on
Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Masonic
Temple. Many sojourners and
guests were welcomed by Myrtle
Schieferstein, worthy high priest
ess, and Clyde Brown, watchman
of the shepherds, presiding offi-
cers of the Shrine.
A business session was con
ducted at 4 p.m. with reports civ-
en on Shrine affairs since last
June when the Shrine recessed
for the summer vacation.
A potluck dinner was served to
members and guests at 6:30 p.m.
in the dining hall. The tables were
gay with decorations of summer
vacation scenes and inscriptions
welcoming returning sojourners
The committee in charge of the
serving was Ruth and Almond
Geiss, Edith Williams. Myrtle!
and Harold Schieferstein.
The ceremonial was held at 8
p.m. with the worthy high priest
ess and watchman of shepherds
and their corps of officers con
ducting talented work and pag
eantry. Ola and Charles Mar1
tin became new members of the
Shrine after the ceremony.
Interesting reports of sojour
ners and their summer travels re
vealed that the Shrine had
world travelers. Isabel Sanders
gave highlights of her two months'
trip to England, and the various
countries she visited on a tour
of Europe; Jack Schulze reported
on his trip to New Orleans and
Supreme Shrine: Alma Cofer vis
itcd Hawaii; Ruth and Almond
Geiss had traveled through 38
states visiting many capitals and
colleges and Jim Hunter described
the outstanding mighty "I Am"
pageant held at Mount Shasta.
The WHP reported on her visi
tations to Portland Shrine No. 1
when the supreme WHP, Maime
Edwards, made her official visit
and the WOS had also been pres
ent at Gaspar Shrino at The
Dalles during the supreme visit.
Shrines at Grants Pass, Eugene,
Salem and Portland had also been
visited by Mr. and Mrs. Brown.
Friendship night was announced
for the next meeting on Oct. 12
and the watchmen of shepherds
urged all sojourners to be present
many guests from other

Edith Williams and Harold Schieferstein.
