WEDDING SET A Thanksgiving Day ceremony will unite
in marriage Betty Lou Collie and Hayward L. Roland.
Their engagement was announced by her parents, Mr, and
Mrs. Joe Mixon. The future bride is a graduate of Klamath
Union High School and is employed by Olson Motors. Her
fiance, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Roland, Ashland, Ala.,
is presently employed by Weyerhaeuser Company.

Flower Show
Over 130 guests attended the
joint flower show sponsored by
the Northside and Klamath Falls
garden clubs, Aug. 25, at the city
library. General chairmen of the
event were Mrs, George LaSalle,
Northside club, and Mrs. Bernard
Valk. Klamath Falls club.
Posters suggestive of each of
the decorative classes of the
show's theme, "See America
First," were designed and exe-i
cuted by Marcia Goehring, Klam
ath Union High School art student.
Birds were prominently fea
tured on the stage by bird feed
ers, birds' nests and species of.
shrubs and trees which supply
their food, all arranged in a gar
den setting by the Northside club.
Nyback s Flower Fair and Bill
and Rita's Flowers displayed com
mercial exhibits.
The plant sale held in conjunc
tion with the sho was con
ducted by Mrs. George Olson,
Klamath Falls, and Mrs. Merle
Jackson, Northside.
The silver tea was under the
direction of Mrs. Curt Heidi ich.
Klamath Falls, and Mrs. Lewis
Kandra, Northside. A Bonsai tree
exhibit was displayed by Mrs.
Dick Evans, Fort Klamath.
Special awards included: Tri
color, an arrangement of predom
inantly fresh material, Mrs. E. C.
Schweitzer, in the "Redwoods"
class;. Award of Distinction,
arrangement of predominantly
dried material, Mrs. Bernard
Valk, in the "Waikiki" class;
Award of Merit, best horticultural
speciman, Mrs. E. C. Schweitzer,
gladioli.
Judges for the show were
from the Siskiyou District, and
included Mrs. Arnold Bohnert,
Mrs. Lester Gordon and Mrs.
R. D. Kay, all of Central Point;
Mrs. Olin Poe and Mrs. R. T.
Nichol of Medford; and Mrs.
M. C. Overgaard of Wolf Creek.

CALIFORNIA GIRL TO WED Norma Holden, daughter
of Mrs. Ralph Holden and the lete Ralph Holden of Mount
Shasta, will become the bride of William E. Wood of
Dunsmutr. No date has been set for the wedding. The
bride-elect attended the College of the Siskiyous after
graduation from Mount Shasta schools, and is now em
ployed by the U.S. Forest Service in Mount Shasta. Her
future husband is a graduate of College of the Siskiyous
and is employed by the International Paper Company
