Dear Ann Landers: When we
moved out here to this so-called
toney suburb I was enthusiastic
about becoaiing friendly with the
neighaors. In fact. I confess I
was concerned that they might
not take me in.
Well. I've been taken in all
right so thoroughly and com
pletely that I am trvmj to tuure
a wav out. There are coiiee
klatches twice a day and some
of the girls get together for a
cocktail at 4 3). This is in
addition to a weekly bridge club,
and a sewing circle and garden
club and a bterary club. I am
clubbed to death and I can't take
it.
Now. how do I unwind from
the rat race? Being the newest
one in the bunch makes it very
difficult. I don't want to appear
ungracious but I simply must get
out. Please help CHARLOTTE'S
WEBB.
Dear Charlotte: Unwind one
thing at a time. Cut the coffee
klatches to one Instead of two.
And skip the martinis. Get too
busy for the bridge game, then
drop the other jazz. Before you
know It you'll be able to call your
soul your own Just like II used to
be.

Most of them wept, shaking their
heads in disbelief.
Humlikon consists of 43 families,
200 inhabitants in all. Now almost
one quarter are dead.
When the Swissair Caravelle jet
liner crashed near Zurich Wednes
day morning. 43 of the HO aboard
were from Humlikon.
The villagers belonged tn 24
families in the village, more than
half of the total families here.
Of the 43 dead from this Vil
lage, 38 were husbands and wives
19 married couples.
rhere were an additional five
persons, either bachelors or men
traveling without their wives.
The mayor died in the crash.
So did the entire Villnne Council.
The village scribe was on the
fitted aircrafl, as was the com
mander of the village fire bri
gade.
But the children, the ixtor chil
dren. My God, what are they
going to do?" sobbed the aged
mother of one of the villagers
who died.
The old woman with this sobbed
exclamation was describing the
true tragedy of Humlikon.
