WASHINGTON' (CPU Secre
lary of Stale Dean Rusk wants a
wider exchange of television pro
grams between nations, and fa
vors an increase in U.S. programs
on international events.
Rusk, in remarks published in
TV Guide magazine Sunday,
called for more programs "devot
ed to the baic forces and issues
which dominate the course of in
ternational events today."
PAY TEACHERS WELL
WASHINGTON ilTI'-The Na
tional Education Association re
ported Sunday at least 75 U.S.
public school systems will pay
salaries of $11,000 or more to
classroom teachers in the next
school year.
The NEA said Beverly Hills,
Calif., would have the highest sal
ary scale with a $14,000 maximum
lor teachers holding doctor's de
grees. Wantash. N.Y., ranks sec
ond with a $13,488 maximum.
