Roads Okay
!n Fremont
LAKEVIEW-A11 surfaced roads
are open, most unsurfaced are
passable, and all roads are dusty
on the BIy Ranger District, ac
cording to the weekly recreation
r e p o r t of the Fremont Nation
al Forest. All campgrounds are
open but there is still a warning
that spring water at Lofton should
be boiled before drinking. Fish
ing is moderate in all streams
and lakes. The fire danger is
high.
All open, dry and dusty is the
verdict on roads in the Drews
Valley District. The campground
is being used by organizations
and groups for picnics on week
ends. Fishing on Cottonwood is
fair to good. The fire danger is
high and users are asked to be
extremely careful because ot
slash.
In the Paisley District all main
roads are open and passable
There is still fallen timber or
trails but they can be used
Campgrounds are all open. Fish
ing is good at Deadhorse and
Campbell lakes, and hprague,
Chcwaucan and Sycan rivers. Ex
treme caution should be taken in
cheat grass and blowdown areas
because of the high fire danger.
Shovels, buckets and axes are
required.
- In the Silver Lake District all
surfaced roads are open but very
dusty. All campgrounds open to
camping and picnicking but it is
recommended that campers using
East Bay and Silver Creek Marsh
campgrounds bring water. At
Thomspon Reservoir still fishing
is excellent, but poor on troll; no
report of fly fishing. Fly fishing
is good at Silver Creek. Fire
danger Is high.
All roads are passable and
dusty and all campgrounds arc
open on the Warner District. Fish
ing is fair to good in South War
ner Creek. It is emphasized that
slash areas in North Warner area
are closed to all power saw use
on weekends and holidays.

Rites Held
LAKEVIEW - Funeral serv
ices were held Tuesday, Aug. 6.
at tile Ousley-Osterman Chanel in
Lakeview for William J. Sullivan,
63, who died Aug. 3 in Lakeview.
Burial was in Sunset Park Cem
etery with the Rev. Iester lioul
den officiating.
He was born ot Minneapolis.
Minn., on Dee. 14, Hum. and was
married in Dululh. Minn., in IH.14
to Mollie Wood. He was a grad
uate of tawrenre College in Ap-
plelon, nis., and was an instruc
tor (or tlie U.S. Air Force at Sioux
City. S.D. The family came to
Lakeview 19 years ago and he
taught English and science in the
Lakeview High School for several
years. He was retired from active
work for several years because
cf ill health.
Survivors include his wife and
four sons, Michael. Timothy, Pat
rick and Jeffrey; a grandson.
Daniel: and a brother, John
M. Sullivan of Minnesota.
He was a mcmlxr of the Meth
odi.st Church, and the Knight
Templars of the Masonic Lodge.
