week at the YMCA boys' summer
camp at Diamond Lake.

over the weekend with relatives
at .Yledlord, returning Sunday

named Mark Allan. He joins a

the weekend with Mrs. Parsons'
father, Walter Smith Sr., who is
recovering from an illness. She
also visited her mother, Mrs.
Walter Smith Sr., who is ill at
Hillside Hospital.

spent July 14 at Gerber Dam with
Mr. and Mrs. Lcland Harris and
helped celebrate Mrs. Harris'

La Grande to be near her family
at Cove as she has been ill. She

Department. Of that number
four received partial suspen
sions, three were suspended for
60 days or Jess, and one other
was suspended for more than 130
days.
The eight who received license
suspensions were among 72 ;cn
agers cited for 74 traffic violations
during the same perod.
Of the 74 traffic tickets issued.
the most frequent offense was
violations of the basic rule with
26, followed by violations involv
ing operator's licenses, eight; ex
cessive noise, seven; and failure
to stop for a traffic sign or bus,
six.
Twenty three citations were is
sued to juveniles between the
ages of 16.7 and 16.11 and 19
others in the 17 to 17.6 age cate
gory were cited.
Two traffic violations resulted
in accidents which caused a total
of $800 property damage, but no
injuries.
The Oregon State Police Issued
44 citations, the Klamath Falls
police 28, and two other traffic
tickets were written by other
law enforcement groups.
Since Jan. 1, 252 juvenile driv
ers have been issued a total of
312 traffic citations, with viola
tions of the basic rule leading in
the most frequent offense with
103, followed by violations involv
ing operator's licenses with 46.

Basin Boat Club Readies
Plans For Water Festival
The, Basin Boat Club, with the
help of local merchants, will hold
a Klamath Water Festival, Sun
day, Aug. 4, on Upper Klamath
Lake at the Moore Park Marina.
This will be the fifth annual wa
ter carnival sponsored by the
club.
A varied program is planned
this year including a big race,
in two separate heats, for the
SK drag I inboard I boats. Several
local and out of town entrants
have already signed up for this
competition. There will be five
boats from Portland, four or five
from Mcdford and possibly some
from Eugene and Redding.

ford; barefoot skiing demonstrat
ed by Sonny Clift, Klamath Falls:
