is why I am writing.
A very nice fellow who is in
my sociology class has a nice
apartment with a cute kitchen
ette. This boy has offered to
hriy the groceries and I can
have all my meals with him if
I w ill do the cooking.
I am a good cook and would
like to take him up on his offer
if you say it is O.K. Also it would
give me a chance to experiment
with some new recipes. What do

problem w hich may not seem im
portant to others but it has
caused me no end of unhappiness.
My husband is a garage me
chanic. He is one of the finest
men who ever walktd In shoe
leather. I wouldn't trade him for
Richard Burton. But h i s hands
and nails never look clean. There
is always a trace of grease
around his knuckles and under
his fingernails.
Whenever we are with frit.ids
or relatives 1 have the uncom
fortable feeling that they are no
ticing this. No one has ever said
anything but it bothers me.
I told him about my feelings
a few months ago. It was the
first and only time I ever brought
it up in the 10 years we've been
married. He says there is noth
ing wrong with honest labor and
he doesn't care if Ins hands label
him as a working man because
that's what he is.
If I am foolish please tell me.

labor is nothing to be ashamed
of, but a man's hands need not
label him.
Excellent soaps which will
remove every bit of grease and
grime are available. A man who
will not take the time to use
these special soaps must accept
the label of "careless" because
that's what he is.

band's mother makes her home
with us. She is a pleasant person
but in the past year she has failed
badly and the doctor says she is
suffering from hardening of the
arteries. Unfortunately this is
affecting her mind.
Our children who are 8 and 11
years of age have told us that
grandma doesn't keep her prom
ises and she tlien denies every
having made them.
My husband doesn't feel we
should burden the children with
the facts because they are too
young to understand. Also, he
fears they may say something
which might hurt her feelings
How should I deal with this?

and will treat her with kindness

Las ANGELES (UPI) - Trans
World Airlines today claimed a
new transcontinental speed record
nf 4 hours, 21 minutes on a flight
from New York.
Capt. William Townsend of Los'
Angeles was pilot of the Boeing
707 Starstreamjet carrying 115
passengers on the flight Tues-'
day. A TWA spokesman said the
time was 2'4 minutes faster than
the previous record.
HAD LUNG TRANSPLANT
JACKSON, Miss. UPH - The
man who underwent the first hu
man lung transplant 18 days ago
has died. Doctors said the death
ifcgs caused by a kidney failure
and had nothing to do with the
lung operation.
John Richard Russell, a con
victed murderer whose prison sen
tence was suspended Tuesday
by Gov. Ross Barnelt for under
going the operation, was pro
gressing satisfactorily from his
historic lung transplant, doctors
said, when he died Saturday of
Hie kidney ailment.
