able activity when members and
I guests enjoyed a breakfast and
social gathering Sunday morn
ing. The golf course had been
opened, and several tried it out
i despite an unfavorable wind
'which increased the hazards of
. the tricky course.
- MR. AND MRS. DON BUTLER
and family completed their move
to Lakeview last weekend, where
Butler has been in charge of the
; meat department at the Maike
Iteria for tlie past year.
MR. AND MRS. ALLAN SMITH
of Portland visited last week at
the ranch home of his parents,
.Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Srojth. He
is a student at the University of
Oregon Dental School and his wife
works in the office of the Georgia
Pacific Corporation.
KALE SMITH, 4. son of Mr
and Mrs. Dclmer Smith, suffered
a freak accident last Saturday
night. He fell out of bed in his
sleep and broke his collarbone on
the corner ol the dresser. He now
wears an uncomfortable jacket
device to protect the break.
MR. AND MRS. ROBERT
GARMS and family returned Sat
urday from a 1.000-mile pleasure
trip in the Cascade Mountains
with their trailerhouse. They lclt
Tuesday for Arizona.

Chandler, Ariz., is spending part
of his leave visiting with his la
ther, Joe Ayoutt, and wife, Beth.
DANNY LEAHY recently spent
a week with his cousin. Jack
Kirkpatrick, and family in San
Francisco. His cousin took him
to many of the tourist attractions.
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH held
its annual program Friday night
to mark the end of Bible School.
The children, accompanied by
Janet Faris, sang songs learned
at the school and received the
articles they had made at the
Bible School sessions.

ABENDROTH of Markensan. Wis .
arrived Sunday at the Bill Allen
home for e few days' visit. Mar
kesan is the original home of the
late John Larken. father of Mrs.
Allen, who is the lirst cousin o
Mrs. Abcndroth. Before return
ing home, the Abcndroths plan to
visit Mary Larken in Long Beach,
a sister of Bill and Edward Lar
ken. CARLENE COGBURN planned
. to leave Tuesday for Pendleton
to visit her mother. Mrs. Town

with her grandparents. Mr. and
Mrs. Clyde Cogburn. and her
father. Bill Cogburn, in Lakeview.

Gold Beach after several weeks
with relatives in Iowa and Mis

CHURCH will have a program
at the church at 7:30 p.m. June
28 for the close of Vacation Bi
ble School. Sixty children have
attended and will show their
crafts, have special music and
recitations. There will be refresh
ments after the program and the
public is invited.
VIRGIL BOOMER and son
Danny spent a few days at Port
land where Danny received medi
cal care. They visited Ernest
Slrunk who is ill at Veterans
Hospital.
LESLIE EMBERTSON went to
Lakeview, Calif., to attend grad
uation excerciscs. He was a stu
dent there for 11 years until
moving to Oregon, and will
spend the summer working there.
MRS. BESSIE CAMPBELL is
spending a few days in Blv
with the Frank Womack family.

ny Brown of Langcll Valley and
Mike Clark left June 23 for Cor-
vallis to attend Beaver Boys
State.

friends in Langcll Valley last
