Andrea Reedcr, daughter of Mr
and Mrs. Dick Iteeder, who has
just completed her sophomore
year at college, has been selected
u play with the Ensemble for
the Shakespearian Theater in Ash
land this summer season. A flutist
she has played in the band at Ore
gun Stale University the past
year.
Wendell McLin. son of Mr. and
Mrs. Floyd McLin, is one of 12
juniors scholastically highest of
their class, who were chosen to
serve as marshals of the Uni
vcrsity of Oregon Dental School
commencement exercises June 13.
He was graduated with a BS
degree from Willamette Universi
ty before enrolling at the dental
school. His wife. Diane, is a case
worker with the welfare depart
ment.
Mona Chenowcth Swanson.
daughter of Air. and Mrs. Paul
Chenowelh. received her BA de
gree in education on June 3 from
Northwest Nazarene College at
Xampa. Idaho. She is a member
of Zcta Kappa Rho honor society
and was presented with the Anna
H. Iluycs Education Award by
the Idaho State PTA. She has
accepted a teaching position in
Kansas City, Mo., where her hus
band will be enrolled at Nazarene
Theological Seminary.
Susan Peterson, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Peterson,
recently received the award for
the outstanding senior in Phi
Chi Theta honorary for women in
business at Oregon State Uni
versily. She also received the
award for outstanding senior in
her sorority, Alpha Gamma Del
ta.
A recent graduate in secreta
rial science, she will leave soon
for Germany where she will be

Two Klamath Falls students
have been commissioned as sec
ond lieutenants following comple
tion of advanced ROTC at Oregon
State University. Gerald Mussel-
man was commissioned in the Air
Force and Ronald Robertson in
the Army.
John C. Cox, son of Dr. and
Mrs. John Cox, received a Mili
tary Science Achievement Award
at the commissioning and awards
ceremonies June 9 of the Uni
versity of Oregon Military De
partment.
Sixteen members of the sec
ond Honors College graduating
class at the University of Oregon
received degrees on June 9. Called
a "college wilhin the university"
for exceptionally able students,
this year's graduating class
achieved a 3 .28 grade point average.
Among the graduates was Hus-
sell Schuh. son of Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Schuh. who received a BA de
gree in foreign languages.
Tom Premo, former resident of
Klamath Falls now residing at
Burney, Calif., received his BA
degreee from Chico State Col
lege this spring term.
Charles Tuning, son of the Rev.
and Mrs. Evert J. Tuning,
Sprague River, was a candidate
for the degree ol Master ot social

degree Monday, June 10. at the
University of Texas in Galveston,

The marriage of Joann Solberg
and Norman Silliman was solem
nized May 18 in the Congregation
al Church with the bride's uncle,
the Rev. Eugene B. Barrow of
Pnneville, officiating.
The altar was flanked by beau
ty baskets of white gladioli and
pink carnations for the double
ring ceremony. Companion flow
ers were on the piano, which was
played by Janice LaGrande.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin 0. Solberg
and was given in marriage by her
father. Her gown was fashioned of
delustered satin with trim of re-
embroidered scalloped Chantilly
lace. The full skirt extended into
a chapel train. A petite satin pill
box embroidered with pearls and
crystals and w ith self bow at back
secured the elbow length veil of
silk illusion. She carried a cas
cade of white cymbidium orchids,
white carnations and stephanotis
and centered with a corsage for
her going-away outfit.
Maid of honor was the bride's
sister, Mary Beth Solberg. Her
frock was of dark rose.
Bridesmaids were dressed
pink. They were the bridegroom's
sister, Grace Silliman, and two
classmates of the bride, Mary Ott
and Estelle Strand, all of Eu
gene.
The honor attendant's flowers
were light pink Tama carnations.
Those of the bridesmaids were
pink and white elegance carnations.
Jan Silliman, niece of the bride
groom, was flower girl.
The bridegroom Is the son of
Mrs. Margaret Silliman. Eugene,
and J. B. Silliman, Salt Lake
City. Mrs. Silliman wore an en
semble of gold brocade for the oc
casion. Roger Persons was best man
and ushers were Dale Bartmess,
Noel Silliman and Victor Alexan
der, all of Eugene.
The reception in the church par
lors followed the ceremony. In the
receiving line with the bridal pair
was Mrs. Solberg. who chose a
dress of mint green brocade for
her daughter's wedding.
Assisting at the reception were
Mrs. Melvin Howie, Mrs. Elwin
Swinney, Mrs. Vernon Alexander,
Mrs. Herbert Harshbarger. Mrs.
Joann Lesiak, Mrs. Joe Silliman,
Mrs. Quinn Hawley. Mrs. Eugene
Barrow and Nolan Lesiak.
