Complete Schedule Offered
For Use Of Municipal Pool

; This is the second in a series of
three articles on the Parks and
Recreation Department's sum
mer program and facilities. To
day's article will deal with the
Municipal Swimming Pool and the
schedule of programs offered at
the pool.
I The first article dealt with the
summer park programs and es
pecially with the activities at
Moore Park, and the last story In
the series will describe all the
facilities available for summer
recreation fun for Klamath Falls
youngsters.
The pool, which opened in 1954,
admitted ils one millionth person
two years ago. Last summer 34,-
2S7 persons enjoyed a swim and
38,725 swimming lessons were giv
en.
j Swimming lessons this year, as
n the past, will bo given for all
youngsters in all age groups. A
youngster is qualified for instruc
tion if he's 38 inches tall at the
level of his chin. Tlic pool at
Its shallow end Is 38 inches deep,
therefore most youngsters will be
able to stand in the water.

ty instructors will handle the
teaching periods which will be
from 8:30 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. 'Mon
day through Friday.
; There will be six two-week les-
ton periods during the summer
beginning June 10.
; Another instructional program
will be a water babies class In
the wadina owl adjacent to the
swimming pool. The class is for
children 3 years old that have
hot attained the required height
for regular lessons.

Fire Girls and leaders. Each
group came In costume, bring
ing the food of the country of its
choice.
The purpose of the dinner was
to welcome all sixth grade girls,
who w ill soon be eligible for tin
Junior High group, and to install
the newly elected cabinet officers.

Friday. The other new addition
is a family night swim on Tues
day from 7 to 9 p.m. Adults only
or adults with children will be
allowed that evening beginning
tile week of June 10.
Pool fces have been raised this
year due to increased operational
and maintenance costs. Mainte
nance costs begin to increase
more now that the pool is 10
years old. The pool Is maintained
and operated solely on revenues
obtained from admissions and lessons.

this year.
Fees for the learn to swim
class will be $3 for each two-
week session. Family swim tick-
els 110 swims I will cost $8. Indi
vidual 50-swim tickets will cost
eighth graders and under, $12,
high school students, $15 and
adults, $18. Daily open swim tick
ets are 25 cents for eighth grad
crs and under, 35 cents for high
school students and 40 cents for
adults.
The following pool schedule will
bo observed daily, Monday
through Friday:
SCUBA instruction and early
bird swims, 6 to 8 a.m.; adult
classes, lifesaving and water bal
let, 9 to 10 a.m.; all classes
except beginners, 0:30 to 10:05
a.m.; all abilities, 10:10 to 10:45
a.m. and 10:50 to 11:25 a.m.
Beginners, adults and water
baby classes, 11:30 a.m. to 12:05
p.m.; family swim and special in
struction groups, 12:10 lo 12:45
p.m.; open swim, 1 to 5 p.m.:
swim team, handicapped and
diving, 6 to 6:53 ip.m.; open
swim, 7 lo 9 p.m. except Tues
day, and family swim on Tues
day 7 to 9 p.m.
