MARCHING BAND The entire KUHS Marching Band turned out attired in their
colorful uniforms to add a martial music phase to the Armed Forces Day Parade.
Herald and News photographer Don Kettler split the line of march as he lined up
this view of the band as they swung down Main Street. The Henley High School Band
alio performed in snappy martial manner to festoon another segment of the morning's
parade.
:: TWIRLERS MARCH A brigade of baton twirlers stepped lively and fancifully
J along the line of march during the Armed Forces Day Parade. They added some smart
marching routines to their twirling patterns, also.

project Friday. The walkout
threatened delay of the K million
job.
The dispute was over a non
union subcontractor laying tile in
the dormitory.
Officials of Todd Building Co..
general contractor of the project,
expressed concern that the walk
out wmild atlect the entire job
unless it was settled soon.
The dispute was between Brick
layers Local No. 5 of Salem and
Hie Valley Tile and Marble Co.
of Corvallis. The firm had eight
nonunion employes on the job.
Four bricklayers left their work
when negotiations between the tile
company and union failed.
