The first- game of the Western
Hockey League playoff finals was
the longest of the season.
It took 17:32 minutes of over
time Friday night before Seattle
scored the goal needed for a 3-2
win over San Francisco in the
first of tihs best-of-scven series.
Playoff games, unlike regular
season contests in the WHL, con
tinue until one team wins. A tie
is declared after two five-minute j
overtime periods during the rcg
