versary u( Mr. and Mrs. John
McDonald, who were married in
his citv March 18, 1938.
ANNOUNCED Janice Irene Holman holds photograph
of her fiance, William Dewayne Moore, who is presently
doing missionary work in Bolivia, South America. The
bride-elect, senior at Pasadena College, returned to
Klamath Falls on Easter weekend to have her parents, the
Rev. and Mrs. Lawrence T. Holman, announce her en
gagement in her father's church, First Church of the
Naiarene on Sunday. She will receive her BA degree in
June from the California college where she has been
active in vocal groups and was a homecoming princess
last fall and serves as supervisor of her dormitory. Her
future husband is a graduate of Upland College, Up
land, Calif., and until leaving for his mission assignment,
worked on his master's degree at Pasadena College.

ALTURAS Mrs. Russ Enderlin,
president of the Alturas Garden
Club reports that plans are in
progress lor the May 1 meeting
of District 12 garden clubs. The
meeting will bring more than 100
garden club members from Mount
Shasta. Lakevicw, Klamath Falls,
Tulelakc, Malin, Keno and Big
Valley to Alturas for the day's
meeting and entertainment.
Schedule of events is registra
tion at 9 a.m. at the Veterans'
Memorial-Hall; business meeting
from 10 until 12. followed by a
luncheon at the hall. At 2 p.m
Phil Winkle, South Fork district
ranger of the forest service, will
speak on conservation.
The Alturas Garden Club wom
en will entertain guests at a
tea at 4 p.m. in their new "Whjs
lie Stop" clubhouse. The club
house is the old narrow gauge
NC and 0 railroad depot in
Alturas. The garden club was giv
en the building by the Southern
Pacific Railroad Company. Mem
bers have been in the process
of refinishing the club rooms for
the past few years.
WED 25 YEARS Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald ob
served their silver wedding anniversary on March 17.
The couple has resided in this city since their marriage
here in 1938 .

family had dinner at Harold's.
Out-of-town guests included Mr.
and Mrs. Morton Yaden and Greg
and Mrs. Verlin Parker, all of
Lake Oswego; Mrs. Charles Jack
son, San Diego, and Mrs. Ralph
Putman. Ashland.

luncheon meeting in the Pine
Grove Room at the Willard Ho
tel on Wednesday. April 10. The
decorations were furnished by
Mrs. Vernon Nect, who also
served as hostess with Mrs. Hal
Rotrock.

retarded children at La Honda,
Calif., were shown by Victor Ov
erman at a luncheon meeting of
Alpha Lambda Chapter of Del
ta Kappa Gamma, teachers' hon
orary, held in the Blue Room of
the Winema Hotel, Saturday, April
6 The slides were taken by Anne
and Victor Overman while they
were serving as staff members of
the camp. The pictures were most
interesting and helped provide
a better understanding of the
work being done through summer
camp programs for mentally re
tarded children.
Part of the day's program was
dedicated to practicing Delta Kap
pa Gamma songs. Goldie Peter
son led members in the singing.
Dorothy Green presided over the
business meeting which preceded
tile program.
Plans were made for officers
and members to attend the con
ention to be held in Salem May
4. 5, and 6.

Tables were attractively arranged
with pastel Easier eggs of organ
dy and net and yellow ribbon
trees. A large chrysanthemum
floral piece centered the head ta
ble. In charge of luncheon ar
rangements and table decor for
the meeting were Marjorie Gun-
derson, Lela Thurman and Anne
Dolezal.
The next mecling will be May
11 at the Winema Hotel with Anne
Overman, Lolis Joneschiel and
Aura Mitchell as committee chair
men in charge. Founders' Day
will be observed with Dolly Bunch
