the problems In your column are
personal. This problem involves

Why do we al
low foreigners to
come to our
great country
and create prob
lems for Ameri
cans? There is
only to much
room here and
so many jobs. We owe it to our
own true Americans to take care
of them first.
Everyone knows there are at
least five million jobless Ameri
cans.. Plenty of these people are
living in slums. The foreigners
will work cheaper so they get
first crack at the jobs. Is this
fair to our own people?
If the foreigners don't like the
policies of their respective coun
tries why don't they fight for what
Ihey think is right and gain their
independence? America did. A

alcoholic and my mother Is a
neurotic with an uncontrollable
temper.

and It's obvious that his mother's
presence makes him ill. This may
seem cruel but It Is essential for
the boy's recovery. Let's hope

stand why.

CIIILOQUIN A young girl who
lived in Chiloquin and attended
school here, Alene Jackson Her-
rcra, 15, saved the life ot a 6-year-old
boy in San Joss last
week.
Aleno saw the child lying on
the bottom of a swimming pool at
an apartment nouse, aivea in,
brought him out and gave artifi
cial respiration until help arrived.
The boy was Angus Hezard of
750 North 2.1rd, San Jose.
Fire Chief Robert True said
Alene's prompt action and knowl
edge of artificial respiration un
doubtedly saved the child's life.
He was later taken to a hospital
for further treatment.
Alene is the daughter of Rose-
marie Lang Hcrrera, and the
granddaughter of maternal grand
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Moore of Cluloqquin.

Man Missing
EUGENE (UPD William Ried-
ler, 52, Eugene, was missing and
presumed drowned in the McKen-
zie River about five miles north
cast of here today.
The Lane County sheriff's office
said Ricdler last was seen wading
in the river Monday. His car was

In Accident
The driver of a car involved in
a two-car accident at 1:50 p.m.
Monday near the intersection of
North Third and Pine streets, re
ceived minor injuries while his
vehicle recieved major damage.
