boxer Joe Dc Nucci, who thought
he was washed up last year at
the age of 22, is making an im
pressive comeback.
He was forced to weather a
furious right-hand barrage in the
last three rounds Saturday night
to eke out a split decision win
over eighth-ranked Joey Giambra
in a nationally televised 10-round-
cr from Boston Arena.
De Nucci, of suburban Newton,
took advantage of a sluggish 31-ycar-old
Giambra in the opening
rounds to pile up a big point lead
with a steady tattoo of left jabs
and hooks. A left hook staggered
Giambra in the first round.
The victory was De Nucci's
37th in 43 professional fights.
Last March, after losing to Don
Fullmer, Dc Nucci announced he
would retire because of a bad
eye. Since coming out of retire
ment in October he has beaten
Mike Pusateri of Dedham twice,
kayocd Irish Ernie Smith and de
cisioned Vernon Lamar and Gi

De Nucci now wants a match

OF KLAMATH FALLS. OREGON, DULY
ASSEMBLED IN REGULAR SESSION,
AS FOLLOWS:

That said plans, specifications and es
timates for the Improvement of said por
tion of Laguna Street, heretofore filed by
the City Engineer, be and the same are
hereby approved.
That the common council ot tne guy
of Klamath Falls, Oregon, hereby declares
its Intention to improve said portion of
Laguna Street in accordance with the
plans, specifications and estimates as
follows:
The Intent of the project Is to Im
prove Laguna Street with concrete curb
and gutter, pavement ot either 6 inches
of crushed rock base with 3 Inches of
Type "B" compacted asphaltic concrete,
6 incnes ot Portland lemem piacea
a stabilized sub - grade. The im
proved street width shall be 26 feet
from face to face ot curbs, ine area be
tween the back of curb to property line
shall on cut sides receive a 2:1 slope
and on the fill side receive a 3:1 slope.
All manholes and lampholes shall be ad
justed to comply with designed grade. No
sidewalks are proposed on this project.
The estimated cost of all classes of
improvement embracing all work and
materials tor the complete improvement
