Heed and Robert Stilley o( Mount
Shasta were united in marriage
March 3 at the Methodist Church.
The Rev. Harold Engdahl per
formed the ceremony. Jerry Mor
rison of Mount Shasta and Mrs.
Patricia Bywaters of Weed were
the couple's attendants. The bride

wore a beige suit and had a cor
sage of pink rosebuds. After the
ceremony a reception was held at
the Piedmont Hotel.

ment of Sarah J. O'Keeffe,
San Jose, to Fred Schadler,
San Francisco, was an
nounced this week in Lake
view. She is the daughter
of Mrs. John O'Keeffe and
the late John J. O'Keeffe
of Adel. The bride-elect,
graduate of St. Mary's
School of Nursing in San
Francisco and San Francis
co College for Women, is
'employed as school nurse
in the Sunnyvale school
system. Her future hus
band, son of Mrs. Lucio
Jaurena, Fort Bidwell, is a
graduate of University of
Pacific at Stockton. A
wedding has not been announced.
BRIDE-ELECT A late
summer wedding is planned
by Elaine Hammond and
Larry Doke, whose engage
ment is announced by her
parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Stuart Hammond of Weed.
He is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. C. J. Doke of Mount
Shasta. The future bride
will be graduated from
Weed High School in June.
Her fiance, graduate of
Mount Shasta High School,
is engaged in ranching in
Weed. ,
HEAD GARDEN CLUB The Mount Shasta Garden Club is now an established af
filiate of the Oregon Garden Club District 12 and has named officers for the first
year. Left to right, are Mrs. George Kerr, secretary; Mrs. Paul Decker, president;

New Club
Elects Slate
MOUNT SHASTA The newly
formed Mount Shasta Garden Club
now has a membership of 39 who
were present at the second meet
ing of the group March 4 at the
Paul Decker home. Future
meetings will be held in the city
park armory.
Officers for the year include'
Mrs. Paul Decker, president;
Mrs. A. E. Brewster, vice presi
dent; Mrs. George Kerr, secreta-
i y, and Mrs. H. R. Williams,
treasurer.
Following the business meeting
Mrs. Mary Dorlaque instructed
members in making artificial
flowers. Future' meetings will fea
ture instruction in flower arrange
ment.
The next meeting will be April
3, at which time members will
make a survey of the park and
select a section to be 1 a n d
scaped and beautified by the club
as a permanent project.

MERRILL Merrill Rebekahs
met March 4 with Dorothy Wy-
att, noble grand, presiding.
The program consisted of the
thought for the evening read by
Bea Mattson; Leta Stolt reading
the "Story of Rebekah," and a
skit. "All Aboard," presented by
Sylvia Jones and Esther John
son.
Mildred Rexford told of a trip
she and her husband had taken
last summer with a 100-house
trailer caravan through Old Mexi
co.
The meeting was adjourned and
refreshments were served by Mar
jorie Newnham and Leona Quails.
