Six Objects

apparently launched six objects
secretly into space since late Au
gust, U. S. space data showed to
day. Information filed with the Unit
ed Nations disclosed two of the
objects were launched recently.
and like the others, have not yet
been reported by the Russians.
Of the six objects, two have
been publicly described by the
United States as unsuccessful
Venus probes which were launch
ed in late August and early Sep
tember. U. S. officials would not
say what they believe the objec
tives were for the other four.
They were fired in September,
October, November and early
January.
On all six, the United States
was not officially pointing the fin
ger at the Soviets. All officials
would say was "they are not
ours. But since Russia is the
only other country capable of
such launchings, the deduction
was obvious.
