KENOSHA, Wis. (UPll - The
lime-coated body of missing juke
box distributor Anthony J. (Tony)
Iliernat, his hands ho.ind and a
wire around his neck, was found
Monday night in a vacant house
on the bandnned Hong Air Force
Base.
Sheriff's deputies, acting under
instructions horn the l'"BI, found
Hiernat's body in the basement of
the house about 22 miles from
Kenosha where he was abducted
the night of Jan. 7.
The Kill had been uorking on
the case on a liaison basis since
the Thursday after Iliernat disap
peared, but came in full force last
week under orders from U.S. Atty.
(Jen. Robert Kennedy.
Kennedy issued the orders in
Washington after talking to Gov.
lohn Reynolds by phone Thurs
day. Reynolds expressed the fear
that Mieinats abduction was
linked to interstate organized
crime, which he said existed in
Milwaukee. Fond du Ijic and Ken
osha counties.
Hiernat's bloody coat, broken
glasses, keys and the paper which
a friend had bought for him were

The program of the Travel In
formation Division was pitted
against those of other areas of
the United States and Canada,
including states, territories, and
provinces. There also were con
tests between transportation agen
cies and resort areas or travel
associations.
The contest was judged on the
basis of the national advertising
program, quality of brochures
and other publications, news
releases, photographic work, pub
licity material, and co-operative
efforts with communities and oth
er agencies, the s)onsors said

piled by the Travel Information
Division and Cole & Weber, lnc
Portland, advertising agency for.

Range Land
Use Agreed
At Paisley
Ranchers in the Paisley Unit
of the Bureau of Land Manage
ment's Lakevicw District have
agreed with I1L.M on a range
adjudication calling for major ad
justments in public land livestock
grazing, BLM State Director Rus
sell E. Getty announced today.
After an all-day meeting with
BLM officials in Lakevicw Fri
day, the cattle and sheep ranch
ers were reported to be in "a
good mood." They agreed to keep
sufficient livestock oil the public
lands, called "non-use," during
the next three years to meet the
requirements of the current BLM
range survey.
"That survey," said Getty,
'revealed that on an average
basis there is not enough forage
on public lands in the Paisley
Unit lo meet the present licensed
demand of livestock operators.
It showed 9 per cent of the pub
lic range lands in the unit to be
in a fair to bad condition class,
and the trend in range conditions
to be 33 per cent static, 67 per
cent declining, and zero per cent
improving.
The livcslockmen agreed to
lake the full non-use required by
the survey for the next three
years m the expectation that
BLM will be ahlc to start a range
rehabilitation program lo restore
the public lands to their full graz
ing potential.
In December, BLM Lakevicw
District Manager George D. Lea
told the ranchers that to avoid
serious hardship they could take
the required non-use on a grad
uated basis over a period of three
years. However, in the Pnday
meeting the ranchers elected to
take the full required non-use im
mediately. Getty explained that several
livestock operators in the Paisley
Unit have been aware of the de
teriorating condition of the public
range lands in recent years and
have voluntarily declined to use
1 per cent of their grazing priv
iliges. The present BLM range
survey calls for an additional 10
per cent reduction in the current
actual grazing use ol the public
lands, or an overall average non
use of til per cent of the full li
censed privileges in the unit, said
Getty.
In order lo take the full non
use required by the survey im
mediately some of the ranchers
will have to shift their operations
lo other parts of the public range
in the unit. The non-use will vary
according lo the agreement
among operators throughout the
unit.
At the Friday meeting Vancil
Withers. Paisley cattleman, said
"In order to get this adjudica
tion job finished and start a
range improvement program I'm
willing to take some additional
non-use."
District Manager l.ca said the
Paisley Unit is the eighth of ten
range units in the Lnkeview Dis
trict to tie surveyed, adjudicated,
and licensed for livestock grazing
lor ten-year period.

users in this district and we are

NOTICE 15 HEREBY GIVEN, that the
Common Council of the City of Klamath
hns, Oregon, at its regular meeting to
be held in the City Hall of said City on
me tin oay oi i-eDruary, i6J, at rne
hour ot 7:30 o'clock P.M. will hold a pub
lic hearing, on a proposal; under ordi
nance 5095 of said City; to change the zon
ing map of said City by transferring
thereon from Residential Zone R-7.5 to
Residential Zone R-5A, a tract ot real
estate described as follows: Situated in
Klamath Falls, Klamath County, Oregon;
Beginning at a point at the intersection
of the center line of Williams Street and
Main Street; which point is also the south
west corner of the South-east quarter of
the South-east quarter of Section 26, Town
ship 38 South, Range fE.W.M. In said
City, County and State; thence east along
the section line common to sections 28
and 33, a distance of 485.08 feet; thence
north 1 degree 9' east a distance of 380
feet; thence north 89 degrees 30' west
685.08 feet; thence south 1 degree 9'
west along the quarter, quarter, section
line; being the center line of Williams
Street, lo the point ol beginning.
At said time and place said Common
Council will also hold a public hearing
lo determine it it shall allow a nursing
home to be constructed on the easterly

if it is so re-ioned. I
