sary at an open house held at the

daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert

The well-known Scott Vallev
couple were joined in the receiving
line oy their son, Robert Reyn
olds, Yreka elementary school su
perintendent, and their daughter.
Mrs. Scott, who were host and
hostess. Both the honorees are na
tive Siskiyouans, and have lived
their entire married life in Fort
Jones.
The large patio and yard of the
Scott home was transformed into
garden party setting for the:
outdoor event with many arrange
ments of summer blooms, umbrel
la tables and lawn chairs.
A large beautifully decorated
four-tiered wedding cake, topped
with miniature bells centered the
refreshment table which was eov
ered with a gold cloth. Completing
the decor were large bouquets of
gold chrysanthemums and cande
labra placed at either side of the
cake.

1911, in Yreka, traveling over the
mountain from Fort Jones in the
only car then in Scott Valley.
Mrs. Reynolds, the former Fan
nie Luttrell. is the daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Peter H. Lut
trell of Scott Valley, while her
husband's parents were the late
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Reynolds,
also of Scott Valley.
In addition to their son and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds
have six grandchildren, Donald
and Judy Reynolds, David and
Charles Walker, and Jim and Bill
Scott. All, with the exception of
David Walker, were present for
the reception.
Also present as a special guest
was Mrs. Myrtle Edmonds of
Fresno, who attended the wed
ding SO years ago.
Included among the close rela
tives attending the open house
were three sisters of Mrs. Reyn
olds', Mrs. Kate Avery of Fort
Jones, Mrs. Sadie Messner of
Montague, and Mrs. Mildred Ives
of Sacramento, and a brother,
Uoyd Luttrell of Sacramento.
Other relatives present from out
of town were Mr. and Mrs. Hubert
Bower of Scotia, Mr. and Mrs.
Russell Bower of San Mateo.
Guests were registered by the
honorees' only granddaughter,
Judy Reynolds of San Francisco

No. S3, Order of Rainbow Girls,
recently installed Dixie Vermillion
as new worthy adviser. Others
installed were Sandra Larsen, as
sociate adviser; Pat Buckhouse,
charity; Sharon Chandler, faith;
Judy Larsen, hope; Kathy Hen
shaw, recorder; Nancy Johnson,
treasurer, and Pat McCuniff, chap-;
lain.
Installing officer was Andrea
Hughes, outgoing worthy adviser
for the Alturas Chapter. Sheryl
Vermillion and Pat Kerr served
as marshals for the ceremony with
Mae Beth Starr at the piano. Mrs.
Betty Baird sang two solos before
and after the ceremony.
Honored guests were Mrs. Eliza
beth Derby, the chapter mom;
Arthur Hughes, chapter pop; Mrs.
Lorraine Reinmuller of Tulelake,
grand deputy to the supreme in
spector of the California Order of
Rainbow, and Mr. and Mrs. Nor
man Christiansen, official host and
hostess.
At the conclusion of the installa
tion, the Rainbow Girls entertained
their guests and parents with refreshments.

Believe it or not, there s a new unfortunate nicknames, or that
might be confusing as to sex
Sounds simple doesn't it? Un
fortunately, naming a babv usual
ly isn't as simple as just drawing
a name out of a hat or from a
book of names for baby.
There is the "junior" business to
be considered. Should or should
not the first-born son be named
for his father and. Derhans
his grandfather before him? The
arguments for and against the use
of junior can keep a couple ar
guing for nine months.

Then, of course, begins the
search for a name that can't be
credited to either side of the fam
ily.
If it were as simple as choosing
a name out of a book, parents
could just consult the telephone
directory.

Following a honeymoon in Las
sen National Park the newlyweds
will live in San Jose, where both
are employed.
