Dog masks, and complete costumes for Halloween, can
be made of aluminum foil and an inflated balloon. Spray
paint, construction paper, and felt, were used to attain
these simply wild features.

dren venture forth this year dis
guised as cute canines?
Any type of animal mask can
he made, simply, of aluminum
Foil. In most cases, one 25-foot roll
is sufficient. An animal body can
be made from two rolls.
Inflate a large balloon to a size
larger than a child's head. For
the body, make the balloon about
30 inches across.
Place the balloon spout end up
on a stack of sheets of foil. The

planned.

about three feet long.
Start with the top sheet, and
mold it up both sides of the bal
loon. Turn the balloon slightly,
and bring up another foil sheet.
Continue turning and covering, un
til the balloon is completely cov
ered. Crush the ends of the foil
sheets together around the spout
end of the balloon, making the
opening large enough for the head
lo fit through the opening you
leave.
Add more foil sheets for
strength, tucking them around
the head opening. When all foil is
used, release the air from the
balloon, and remove it from the
foil sphere.
Add a ball of foil for a nose,
and secure it into place -with a
sheet of foil, wrapped around the
mask. Add more foil to build up
face features. Ears are made
from crushed foil, and set into
holes punched into the foil head
at either side. A little glue will
hold the ears in place.
Cut holes for eyes, and deco
rate with construction paper or
felt. Spray can paint works well
on foil for facial features.
The animal body Is made the
same-way, but in a larger sine.

Quota Club of Klamath County will include so many
items for sale that the only way to be convinced is to
go and take a look so believes young Susie Soran,
whose mother, Shirley Soran, is sale chairman. These toys
will be among the bargains to be found when the doors
open at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, and again on Sat
urday at Clyde's Towing Service on Klamath Avenue.
Proceeds will be used for the club's aid to the hard of
hearing program and for an Ore Tech scholarship,

You perhaps read where three
British Tommies had advertised
themselves for sale as husbands.
Seems the trio were tired of the
army and wanted to take advan
tage of the British policy ot
letting a soldier buy up the re
mainder of his service time.
Not having the money to buy
up their army contracts, they hit
on the idea of offering themselves
in marriage. Two priced them
selves at $700. The third offered
himself at the bargain rate of
W20. since he owed the army less
time than the other two.
Said the enterprising three:
'They buy us out. We marry them
and we'll get jobs and keep them
for the rest of thier lives. Our
brides will find us cheerful, sober
and industrious. Girls may think
we've got a nerve to make this of
fer. But we think it is a bargain
for them."
Maybe it is a bargain. At any
rate, at least one found a taker.
After all. what's so different in
a girl's buying a young man's
army contract in order to make
marriage possible, from a girl's
saying, "We don't have to wait
until you get through college to
get married. I'll take a job and
put your through."?
That happens all the time over
here. Girls promise to earn a pay
check until a young man finishes
school, is able to earn enough for
tuo. or puts in his time in uniform.
To be sure, our young men
don't advertise that they're for
sale. But all the same, it's the girl
who promises to help earn a liv
ing, who gets a young man to the
altar before he is financially able
to support a w ife.
If army contracts could be
bought up in this country we might
even have a few GIs or sale as
husbands over here.

your home dryer is set on warm,
not hot. Heat dries the oil nut of
vour hair.
