Close Ranks
WASHINGTON (AP)-Republi
can congressional leaders expect!
to expand their liaison with New
York Gov. Nelson A. Kockolcllcr
as a part of their efforts to close
GOP ranks before the 1962 cam
paign.
Senate Republican Leader Ev
erett M. Dirkscn of Illinois said
he had suggested to Rockefeller
that frequent contacts between
the governor and the Senate and
House chieftains would benefit
the party generally.
He is in a ire -eminent spot in
the party and among the gover
nors," Dirkscn said. "It will be
helpful for us to have his views.
Rockefeller has conferred sev
eral times recently with former
President Dwight D. Eisenhower
but his contacts with congrcssion
al leaders havo been few.
Supplementing his observations
Dirksen said thai he has frequent
meetings with Sen. Barry Gold-
watcr, R-Anz., a spokesman lor
GOP conservatives who is con
sidered a possible rival of Rocke
feller lor the 1964 Republican
presidential nomination.
Dirkscn noted at an informal
news conference that nearly
score of Republicans had m e t
with former Vice President Rich
ard M. Nixon, the l'JOO nominee,
on the miters recent visit to
Washington.

"Phew!" the New Haven School

hearing that Principal Robert T.

The order is "unreasonable" in

A decision is expected today.
LeVlne, whose school was one
of the first in the country to ban
