publican plan which gives full and
due consideration to the problems
of Eastern Oregon. However, no
specific bills on the subject have
been introduced.

quo. This bill will then be intro
duced and serve as a starting
point for discussion.
There seems to be little ques
tion that quite an amount of
wrangling will result. The less
populous areas of the state will
be diligent in trying to protect
their interests while the Demo
cratic legislators from Multnomah
County will be fighting to gain
additional strength.
Already some of the Democrats!
from Multnomah County have
made sly remarks about "repre
sentation for jackrabbits" in the
less populous counties. In the very
near future they will be doing
everything possible to gain addi
tional representation for the Port
land area.
At this point there seems to be
very little doubt but that some
progress will be made in the area
of reorganizing state government.
Several bills on reorganization
have been acted upon with some
favor and there is reason to be
lieve that more will receive the
same treatment.
This slate could very well use
