"OUR FRIENDS AROUND US," the mo of the Klamath Falls Woman's Library Club
benefit bridge and tea Jan. 28 at the Willard Hotel, provided many ideas for decorations
which included the large world globe shown at left as centerpiece for the tea table. Toys de
picting modes of travel surrounded the base. Costumes of colonial days, Hawaii and Mexico
were worn by six girls who assisted in servin g and distributing prizes which were gaily
wrapped in red, white and blue. Pictured left to right around the table are Carol Per
kins, Jane Black, Diana Walas, Gayle Carnini, Aida Zurita and Patricia Caparroso. The lat
ter two, both exchange students, in the picture above, point on the globe to their respective
homes in Mexico. Guests were greeted at the door by Mrs. Joy Walker, Mrs. Claude Gar
rison and Mrs. E. W. Carter. Presiding at the tea table were Mrs. Kathleen Ward and Mrs.
Loren Palmerton. On the tea committee were Mrs. Alva Oldham, Mrs. O. E. Powell and
Mrs. Thomas Lawrence,

SAN FRANCISCO HERE WE COME set the tempo for the Hillah Temple Drum Corps when members
gathered Saturday evening, Jan. 28, at the Yacht Club for their annual dinner dance. The corps' hopes to be a march
ing unit at the 1961 East-West game provided the incentive for clever decorations. Blue and white pompons and small
white footballs lined the tables between blue and white goal posts. Toy buses bearing such placards as Hrllah Temple
Drum Corps and East-West game, 1961, were realistic additions to the decor. Each woman wore a white pompon
corsage with the letter E or W. Responsible for the arrangements were Mr. and Mrs. Roland Warren, Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Wagne, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chilcote, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Totton and Mrs. and Mrs. Art Stites. Shown above,
left to right, are Mr. and Mrs. Wirren, Mr. and Mrs. Wagner and Don Phelps, president of the Klamath Falls Shrine
Club.
