Mrs. G. W. (Phyllis) Nelson
was elected president of the
Klamath Council of Camp Fire
Girls at the council's annual meet
ing at the First Presbyterian
Church last Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Nelson has been a mem
bar of the agency's Board of Di
rectors for four years and last
year served as vice president.
Frank Drew is the retiring presi

named to the Camp Fire board.

PORTLAND (AP) - The editor;

May said a majority of the
legislators are successful men

"The 1961 legislature will not
easily be brainwashed on labor,
education, welfare or tax bills."

ner. Blue Bird girls, led by Mrs.
George ahraus and her daughter,
Kathy, opened the evening's pro
gram by singing the Camp Fire
Girls Jubilee Song.
Five Horizon Club girls and
their adviser, Mrs. Gerald Wolff,
told of their experiences and their
trip to New York last November
when they attended the Camn
Fire Girls National Golden Jubi
lee Convention.
They related their experiences
en route, impressions of political
campaign events in the cities of
the East and their visits to the
Naval Academy at Annapolis, the
Military Academy at West Point
and the American Band Stand
television program.
Cherry Wolff, Chiloquin, was the
official Horizon Club delegate
from the Klamalh area and was
sent expenses-paid by the Hori
zon Club Cabinet.
