great man stands a woman," today' page is de
voted to the distaff side of the Klamath Falls City
Council
THE FIRST LADY of Klamath Falls, Mrs. Rob
ert E. Veatch, known to her many friends as Marty,
admits to having little time for ac tivities beyond
her home and the interests of her four children. She
will, however, graciously assume the role of wife
of the city's new mayor. Mrs. Veatch is pictured
.at right in the family home, 2048 Portland Street,
with her children. Left to right, Mike, 14. freshman
at KUHS; Don, 13, seventh grader; Cathy, II, in
the sixth grade, and Chip (Bob Jr.), 7, second grad
er. The younger children are students at Roosevelt
School.

MRS. LYLE (BETTY) KELLSTROM,
left, shown with the family pet, Tina,
, is an energetic worker in many civic
projects and currently with the Com
' munity Concert Series of which she
has been a board member for six
years. Mr. and Mrs. Kellstrom reside
at 548 Conger Avenue with their three
sons, Lon, 14, freshman at KUHS;
Scott, 1 2, and Todd, 8, who are in the
seventh and second grades respec
tively at Riverside School.
MRS. WALTER (HAZEL) FLEET,

East Street.. Their older son, Verne
' Fleet, resides with his wife and two
children in San Diego. A younger son,
Glenn, 1 5, is a freshman at KUHS.

MRS. CHET HAMAKER, above, finds her time well occupied
with caring for the family home at 1914 Lowell Street, being mother
to three children and working with her husband in their rental busi
ness. Their eldest child. Heather, is a student at Sacred Heart School
of Nursing in Eugene. Two at home are students at KUHS, Harlan, a
junior, and Judy, a sophomore.

, . MRS. JIM (PEGGY) BARNES, above, has given many hours
toward community affairs including the school board. This year she is
, devoting most of her time to her sons.' Jerry, 14, freshman at KUHS.
, and David, 13, seventh grader at Mills School. An older son. Jimmy,
has just finished basic training with the Air Force at Lackland AFI.
The family home is at 1 1 1 Sheldon Street. !
