MRS. MARIE KINSTRY of Mount Shasta is shown
working at her hobby, fashioning lovely items and jewelry
from ordinary tin can lids. She sells nothing, but delights
her many friends with unusual gifts. Mrs. Kinstry is also
generous with her time, often lecturing and illustrating
her interesting work to various clubs.

Kinstry, wife of Mount Shasta's
Judge John Kinstry and well
known clubwoman, has no diffi
culty choosing presents for her
many friends. She just collects
a supply of tin can lids, and
makes all kinds of attractive jew
elry.
A full display of the Kinstry
jewelry carries many shapes, col
ors and patterns. A strip of tin
cut with a pair of ordinary bar
ber's shears will resemble deli
cate filigree work by silversmiths.
Given a bit of gilt, and it re
sembles gold, or whatever other
smelal desired. This clever work
er of metals can look at an in
tricate pattern, and turn out t
similar design.
Besides enjoying this unusual
hobby, and making friends hap
py with distinctive presents, Mrs.
Kinstry is sought after to lecture,
nnd illustrate her. work to vari
ous clubs. She also is asked to
make various objects to sell in
charily affairs. But she never sells
any of her work for her own
pain. She says she is strictly an
