"1 will never give you cause to
regret, your honor," said a smil
ing Zeghabe.
"While the court does not con

seems to be a case in which to
make an exception."
Clark's faith in Zeghabe grew
during the Christmas holidays
when the defendant was allowed
to go home to his family in subur
ban Anaheim for Christmas and
voluntarily returned to jail two
days later.
Clark had approved the Christ'
mas furlough without bail after
Nadya had written a plaintive
(letter saying "we have never
ibeen separated on Christmas.1'
Zechabe had never before been
in trouble with the law when he
robbed a Los Angeles bank of
MOO last fall. He was quickly ap
prehended and admitted the
crime. He said he was broke and
unemployed. Many persons have
written offering to give him jobs.
