tivitiesboth for adult and youth.
Whether the activities are bas
ketball teams thundering back and
forth on the floor or a group of
tots attending play school, the big
building serves them well.
George A. Price, director of
the Klamath Falls Parks and Rec
reation Department, has compiled
this list of activities currently be
ing conducted in the auditorium.
Play school for pre-scheol chil
drenMore than 30 children be
tween the ages of 4 and S attend
this school. The more advanced
pupils go on Monday, Wednesday
and Friday and the younger tots
attend on Tuesday and Thursday.
Instruction is in singing and group
play. Mothers have been enthu
siastic about the program and giv
en their help.
Basketball The City and Vic
tory leagues practice and play
games regularly m the audito
rium. The Victory League consists
of more than 100 teen-aged boys.
The City League is made up of
more than 100 men.
Teen Recreation Council Junior
Class presidents of each school in
the county are members of the
Teen Recreation Council and work
in cooperal ion with the Park and
Recreation Department in order
to program activities, for high
school students.
A "Hi Nile" is scheduled every
second and fourth Wednesday of
the month. One room is set aside
for dancing to records and the
gymnasium is reserved for var
ious spoils. About 200 students
attended the first "Mi Night" and
attendance has held up well since
then.
Baton and Marching Instruction
About 50 girls participate in this
activity.
Pelican Players This theatrical
group, foimed by the Park and
Recitation Department during the
past summer, has a membership
of 35. Tlie group meets in the
auditorium two or three nights a
week.
Women's Recreation Night Ev
ery Thursday evening, through
mid-Noven.ber, a group of 20 wom
en enjoyed various activities in
the auditorium. The group has
since concentrated on modem
dance and lias changed' its mcet-
!ng time.
Mooting Rooms Rooms are
available to various groups such
as the Coin Club and Oiess Club.
About 50 members attend meet
ings of each of these groups.
Rooms are rented for $5 per
meeting Mir! the money is used
for building maintenance.
Golden Age Club More than 100

day afternoon in the auditorium

ation department last year.
Free Play Time Each after

rium is open for free play. About
40 children a day take part bi
various sports. In the evenings
when the auditorium is not in
use, the free play period is. ex
tended under supervision of a de
partment employe.
