period I of business machines. The two are, left to right,
Donna Curtis and Kay Horn. There are 20 enrolled in this
'class. These students are taught by Ken Casteel. He has
three other classes of the same and Mrs, Aleitha Shannon
has two, one of which is an accelerated class. Students
are required to master four machines a year, others are
Sunstrand, 10-key adding,. Monroe Calculator, Frieden
Calculator and Burroughs full keyboard adding machine.

cludes bookkeeping equation, balance sheets, accounts, journalizing and P,n9- The
classes have completed the seven steps in the bookkeeping cycle. There are 80 stu
dents enrolled in bookkeeping and accounting.

AN IMPORTANT PERSON in the order of things at KUHS is the school nurse, Mrs.
Margaret Stroud, shown here discussing a point with Danny Wetzel. The school in
surance program was handled by this department. Vision testing has been another
project of the department, as members of the freshman class are checked. The test
ing was done by members of the Lioness Club. A severe epidemic of colds is one of
the maor health problems at the school at the present time.

to this area 18 months ago with husband and four small
daughters. Previous to this they were assigned by the Air
Force to Madrid, Spain, for two years. She is shown here
with Mike Malley. There are two classes of German be
ing taught, with 51 students enrolled. Other modern
languages at KUHS include three years of Spanish, two
years of French, in addition to the two years of German.
