Dies At Age 84
LAKEVIEW - Denis Patrick
O'Callaghan, 84, died Nov, 7 in
a Lakeview rest home. He had
been in ill health for some time.
;Mr. O'Callaghan was born
March 17, 1876. in New Market,
County Cork, and came to Lake
County in 1906. He was married
in 1930 to Kathrine Murphy who
died In March, 1950.
Mr. and Mrs, O'Callaghan
ranched during their lifetimes in
the Paisley community.
Recitation of the Rosary will be
at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, In
the Ousley-Osterman Chapel, A
Requiem Mass -will be read at
10 a.m., Thursday, in St. Patrick's

As the case was outlined in a
court-martial:
Six weeks ago, they decided to
take the coffee and go to the So
viet zone of Germany. They sold
the coffee to a West Berlin cafe
owner for 110 marks ($26,261, got
drunk and took an elevated train
into East Germany.
It was only a few minutes' ride
into the suburbs that are outside
the boundaries of the four-power
city.
They were immediately arrest
ed and held for five days. They
then decided to return, and were
accompanied back on the elevated
by an East German escort.
The court martial sentenced
them to bad conduct discharges
as well as the year in jail. How
ever, the sentences may be re
duced later in review by higher
authorities.
