Rev. Hardin
Accepts Call
CHII.OQUIN - The Rev. and
Mrs. Jack C. Hardin of Eugene
have accepted the pastorate of
the Bihle Standard Church, Chilo-
quin.
Reverend Hardin is a graduate
of Bible Standard College, Eu
gene, class of 1960. The couple
has three children. Sherry, 13,
Jack II, 12, and John Lawrence,
S, a Korean boy brought to this
country by Harry Holt on one
of his baby lifts from Korea.
The Rev. Hardin, who filled
pulpit in Paradise Valley near
Eugene briefly, will be aided by
the Rev. Maris Baker, assistant
pastor, also i Bible Standard
graduate.

Unitarian Church School
Adopts Young Asian Girl
Ock Ja, 11-year-old Korean girl,
has been financially "adopted"
by members of the Unitarian
Church School of the Klamath
Unitarian Fellowship of Klamath
Falls. The adoption is through the
Foster Parents' Plan, Inc. with
headquarters in New York City.
This plan has rehabilitated
more Uian 76.000 children on a
personal basis since its founding
in 1937, and is now helping 19,000
South Korea, France, VietNam
and . Hong Kong. Over, the past
23 years more than BOO.OOO indi
viduals and groups in America
have helped needy children over
seas through this plan.
There is no legal responsibility,
The Foster Parent promises to
contribute $15 monthly for at
least one year. Of this amount
the child receives M each month
In a cash grant. The remainder
is used for periodic food and new
clothing packages, translations of
letters, medical services and
education. Because each child is
treated as an individual, any spe-

Grange agenda during the Octo
ber meeting recently.
R. A. (Rube) Long staled that
he has turned in all current ap
plications for phone membership
in the Fort Rock community.
In a dinner conference with
G. E. Wiley, Bend, manager of
Pacific Telephone Northwest, it
was pointed out that engineers
have been surveying to determine
amount of materials needed for
providing service here and, if
weather conditions are favorable,
service may be expected consid
erably sooner than previously
staled.

THIS FAT HEREFORD STEER, donated by Joe Wriqht, will be sold at auction Satur
day, October 29, for the benefit of the building fund of Mt. Lalei Community Presby
terian Church. The animal is one of several head of livestock and many other items,
including furniture, which have been pledged for the sale to be cried gratis by Klam
ath Falls Auctioneer Bob Rhodes. Money from the sale , will help finance the build
ing of a new church wing. A food sale to help swell the fund is also planned. Other
