SUSAN BOYD was honored at a bridal shower recently
given by Mrs. Bert Miller at the home of her mother, Mrs.
Arthur Leistikow, 4500 Crosby Avenue. A large .ring held
by wedding bells and encircled with lace doilies' and pink
ribbons was the attractive centerpiece for the table set
beneath large white bells hanging from the ceiling. Susan
Boyd became the bride of Bill Jacobs on February 6 at Reno.

Institutions Meet
AAUW Requirements
Fifteen colleges and universities
have been added to the list of In
stitutions meeting requirements for
membership in the American As
sociation of University Women, it
was announced today by Mrs
E J. Warrick, membership chair
man of the Klamath Falls branch
All graduates of these institutions
arc now eligible for membership
in the association.
The new institutions, added to
the list by vote of the AAUW
Board of Directors on recommen
dation of the association's com
mittee on higher education, are
Alma College, Alma, Michigan;
Florida A. and M. University, Tal
lahassee; Henderson State Teach
ers College, Arkadelphia, Arkan
sas; Marquette University, Mil
waukee, Wisconsin; Marycrest Col
lege, Davenport, Iowa; Mary-j
mount College, New York City
and Tarry town, New York; Mount
Saint Mary's College, Los Ange
les, California; Mundelein College,
Chicago; Oklahoma Baptist Uni
versity, Shawnee, Oklahoma: St
Joseph College, Hartford, Connec
ticut; Stout State College, Meno-
monie, Wisconsin; University of
Bridgeport, Bridgeport, Connecti

The addition of these institutions
now brings the AAUW list to 445
colleges and universities whose
women graduates are eligible for
membership. '
The Klamath Falls branch of
fers members a study-action pro
gram covering the fields of high
er education, elementary and sec
ondary education, international re
lations, social and economic is
sues, the status of women, mass
media, and the arts. The associa
tion also supports a legislative pro
gram, voted by delegates to its
biennial conventions, and Mem
bers participate in the fellowships
program, which awards more
than 40 teltowsmps eacn year iu
wnmpn scholars and bring an.

countries to the United Slates for
professional study.

of the bi-monthly Tuesday Lake-
shore Duplicate Club resulted fn
the following winners: North-South
full point winners: Mrs. Claud Da
vis and Mrs. Cecil Adams won first
place; Mrs. William Grove of
Merrill, Mrs. Marcella Raymond,
Mrs. Lena Smith and Mrs. Lloyd
J. Goble each were awarded 42'4
fractional points for a tie between
second and third North - South
places.
East-West first place winners re
ceiving a full master point each
were Mrs. Bill Cunningham and
Mrs. Frank Rickey. Second place

game on Sunday, February 28, at
1 p.m. at 'the Willard Hotel. All
