Plans Crab Feed
Plans are complete for the an
nual crab feed of the Klamath
Yacht Club, according to Tom
O'Harra, publicity chairman. The
affair on Friday, February 26, is
planned for the entire families of
members and their guests. Serv
ing will begin at 7 p.m.

ary 4. High score for the afternoon
was held by Fanny Reynolds, sec
ond by Marie Jenner and Pansy
Davidson, low. Mary McCrary re
ceived the honor prize. Others
present were Gladys Hayden, Anna
Hovenden, Beverly White and Dora
Marlahan.

Husbands Feted
At Lioness Party
Members of the Klamath Falls
Lions Club Auxiliary entertained
their husbands at the annual Sweet
heart Party on February 8 at the
Yacht Club.
The club rooms were gay with
frilly Valentines and cupid cutouts
hung along the walls. Supper ta
bles were attractive with red can
dles and numerous white manza
nita trees on which were lied tiny
red hearts.
President Blanche Franklin as
sisted by Hester Dexter, Kathleen
Hepburn, Dorothea Nolan, Clem-
ence Newton, Dorothy Ward and
Marceil Clark were responsible for
the elaborate decorations.
Officers of the auxiliary were
hostesses for the potluck supper
which followed the 6:30 cocktail
hour.
Eldred Putnam was crowned
King of Hearts by Lioness Doro
thea Nolan. Mrs.Putnam received
the queen's crown.
Special prizes were awarded dur
ing the evening to Dr. Frank John
son, Loy Barker and Hap Hepburn.

and Mrs. Irven G. Johnson
of Merrill. The bride-elect,
graduate of Merrill High
School, attended Southern
Oregon College and is now
employed by the First Na
tional Bank of Merrill. Her
fiance, son of Mr. and Mrs.
John O'Neil Sr. of Merrill,
was also gradueted from
Merrill High School and at
tended Oregon State Col
lege for two years. He is
associated with his father
in farming operations in
Merrill. Their September
wedding will take place in
St. Augustine's Church.

Dr. Marian Luten
Speaks To Group
Dr. Marian Luten, Klamath
Falls physician and surgeon, was
guest speaker at the regular meet
ing of the Catholic Daughters on
February t. Dr. Luten gave an
interesting resume on the care of
the skin followed by a question
and answer session.
Members of the court welcomed
Mrs. Pauline Paroline who trans
ferred from Porterville, California.
Mrs. Mary Marlin and Mrs. Mae
K. Short were reinstated also at
this time. Mrs. Short was a char
ter member when Court Klamath
1295 was organized here in 1938.
Sacred Heart Academy students
will again participate in the poetry
contest sponsored by the court.
Other Important coming events are
the silver "Book Tea" on Febru
ary 22 at 8 p.m. In the Sacred
Heart Parish Hall and the party
for the Pope's Relief on March 28

Squaw Valley
Attracts Many
A sizable number of Klamath
Falls folk will be among the spec
tators at Squaw Valley during the
next two weeks for the Olympic
games which opened Thursday.
Arriving a little early in order
to do some skiing themselves and
get a good look at the slopes were
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hicks. They
went to Reno last week and were
met by Dr. and Mrs. Lou Daniel-
son of Pasadena. The two' couples
have visited Sun Valley often to
gether. Also a part of their party
will be Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lamb
of San Francisco.

Dance Date Set

Members and guests of the In
ternational Footprinters Associa
tion, Klamath Chapter No. 14, will
pltcnd a dinner dance on February
27 at the Yacht Club. Time for the,
party is 7 p.m. Dancing will be to
the music of the Fred Dallas Trio.

Haz-bins
The Haz-bins met at the home
of Betty Ketsdcver, 1028 Jefferson
Street, on January 25 with Beat-
ice Nelson as hostess. Eight mem
bers and three guests were pros
ent for the short business meeting
which preceded the evening of pi
nochle.
Prizes were won by Fannie May
Thomspon, Sarah Kirby, Mane
Farrell, Betty Ketsdcver and
Grace Whitlow.
The next meeting will be at the
home of Lola Truax, 540 Division
Street, on February 22 at 7:30
p.m.

MALIN The Malin American
Legion Auxiliary met Wednesday
evening, February 3, at the home
of Anita Stephens with Carol Mc
Culley, president, conducting the
meeting. Marge Conroy, member
ship chairman, reported the Malin
Unit now has 42 members. Cloth
ing is being collected to send to
the Save the Children Federation.
The annual American Legion
birthday dinner will be Wednes
day evening, March 2, at the com
munity hall with legion and aux
iliary members and families invit
ed. Refreshments were served fol
lowing the business meeting by
the hostess.

on the problems confronting pro
bation officers in their line ot
duty, need for more foster homes,
and the prospective detention
home.
