RICHMOND, Va. (UPI) - One
room, one-teacher schools have
been vanishing at the rate of 100
a year in Virginia since 11125. Dr.
Davis Y. Paschall, state superin
tendent of public instruction, re
ported that only 289 were left
during the 1958-59 school term.

for the affair which will start with cocktails at 6:30 followed by a chuck wagon dinner at
8 o'clock. Bill Mayhew will call the square dances which will be featured along with ball
room dancing. A Merry Mixer square dance set pictured, including Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Morland, Mr. and Mrs. Al Welp, Captain and Mrs. Thomas Jeffcoat and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle
Faast, will be one of two to present intermission entertainment.
