nual meeting Saturday, January 16,

OKLAHOMA CITY (API - Ban
dits finally got their just dues at
the Honest John Market Monday.
Two gunmen sacked $4,500 from
the market's cash register and
ordered owner Oran Clayton and
several customers into a frozen
food locker.
Clayton played it cool. Inside the
locker he pressed a button. A buz
zer sounded in a nearby police
Station.
The bandits never had a chance.
They walked out of the market
and met police officers with pistols
drawn.
Clayton installed the locker
room burglar alarm after sweat
fng out two earlier holdups.
William P. Bickers, who has
been employed by the Johns-Man-ville
plant and making his home
with his mother at Modoc Point,
moved to Grants Pass last Satur
day with his bride, the former
Marge Wilder of Grants Pass.
The Homestead 4-H Club at New
ell will have a potluck dinner
meeting Monday, January 18, at
6:30 p.m. at the school. Those at
tending are to bring their own ta
ble service. All parents are urged
to attend.
John and Gene Berthelson spent
the holidays with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. V. J. Berthelson of!
French Creek. Mrs. John Berthel
son will visit with her husband's
parents until she can join him at
Fort Lewis.
Mrs. Calvin Ball and her mother,
Mrs. Cure of Oroville, spent a re
cent vacation at the Ball Ranch
on French Creek. Mrs. Ball teach

Mrs. Julia Collier and a friend,

recent visitors at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Neil Cummins of Fort
Jones.
Bud Eastlick of Yrcka is logging
on the Evelyn Edwards property in
Quartz Valley for the Schoonmaker
Logging Company.

Tulelake visitors. The Crowthors
-stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur
Edwards' and visited many old
friends. Crowther is a former Tu
lelake resident, now associated
with the Department of Agriculture
in Alaska.

has returned from San Francisco
where she visited friends over the
holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Price Jr., Tu
lelake, have a new baby boy born
December 13 at the Malin Medical
Clinic, weighing 7 lbs., 12 ozs. He
has been named Bruce Wayne.
Cindy Diane is the new daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Cullen Sanford of
Malin. She was born December 24
at the Malin Clinic and weighed
7 lbs., 7 ozs.
