Woodall's legs were broken last
March while he was in California
stunting for motion pictures with

Park beach Tuesday night when
out of the darkness came cries for
help:
"God, somebody help me! I'm

The cries came from a man
clinging to an overturned motor
boat about 20 yards offshore.

Lake Taxes
Rolling In
LAKEVIEW-Collcctions on the
1939-60 Lake County taxes are al
ready coming in very well, al
though the statements have been
out only a short time, according!
to Mrs. Dorothy Brown, deputy inj
charge of taxes at the sheriff's of-j
fice.
As of Tuesday, October 20, there ;
had been about nine per cent ofj
the total amount taken in, or $81,
279.21 of the $903,051.74.
Most taxpayers in the county are
finding their tax bills a little high
er this year, reports Assessor
Harold M. Langslet. This year's
total is $87,426.89 higher than that
of last year, which figure was $815-1
624.85 as compared with the $903,-1
051.74 of this year. The assessed1
valuation for the county this year
is $19,031,947.20, which is $2,460,
814.54 higher than the $16,571,
132.66 of last year.
Factors considered In the In
crease, Langslet said, are an in
crease in the ratio of assessments
according to stale law; an in
crease in the market value of live
stock; construction of several new
homes in the county, and the addi
tion of the machinery and build
ings of the Lakcvicw Mining
Company to the tax rolls this year.
Because of the increased valu
ations the millagc rates are about
the same as in 1938. However, it
Is expected that most land and
; building values will be increased
i'again next year because of the
estate law which makes it man
datory to assess all property at not
less than 25 per cent of its full
'market value. Lake County is now
assassins at 22 per cent on lots
and buildings. All other properties
'are now at the 25 per cent ratio.
' Figures show that in the past
weight years the property taxes
:have been increased by 7J per
cent.

Hair Specialist Here Friday

Trlrhnlngtsl T. Donlnn wfll be In rharef, rrrirmf nllnc the dynamic KEL
LY HAIR EXPERTS nrjtaniiatlon. He will personally examine halr
norrled men and women from 2 p.m. lo ft p.m. Friday at the Willard
Hotel.
ThU new treatment la neither "mall order" nt "rure-all." II la atated
to the individual alter a peraonal examination and proireai la checked
personally at regular Intervals by ft Kelly expert.
WHO CAN BE HELPED?
For many years' now KELLY HAIR EXPERTS have been rhrrklnr (he
hair of thousands of people arrnss the country. They have encountered
and dealt with hundreds of rases of every kind of hair trouble. From
thla experience has crown the body of irientlflc knowledge leading to
the development of the new Kelly Home treatment.
Will the new Kelly treatment rure baldness? "No." For we fan not help
men and womrn who are sllrkhald after years of gradual hair-loss. But
if you still have fun and your scalp is itMl rreallng hair you can at
leant save and thicken what you have. Home conditions, such at "spot
baldness," usually have complete coverage if caught In time!
Other conditions that usually bring an excessive hair loss - dandruff,
Itching, nver-oillness or dryness, follicle clogged with sebum or sebor
rhea can he corrected by the Kelly home treatment If caught before
the "hair factories" are destroyed.
Evidence of the success of the Kelly method Is that the organization
tias quickly expanded to serve hundred! of cities In 82 ttalea and Can
ada. The most important thing la: "DON'T WAIT L'NTIL IT'S TOO LATE."
Surveys among men and women In all walks of life show that the worst
enemies of vonr hair are H skepticism and 2 procrastination. The av
erage balding person Justifies his condition with one or tbo other of
these two statements:
"I don't think anybody can stop hatr loss' or "Oh. I'm going to see
an expert when I get around te it."
Baldness won't wait for doubters ! be convinced or for procrastlnatora
to take action later. You're going to keep right on lolng hair until
you're bald . . . unless you get your scalp In healthy, hair-growing con
dition again. t
SATISFY 95
"Actually, our higrest problem Is not In doing what we claim," sava
Kelly, "for we satisfy at least &SV of our clients which, when you con
