Invades
Lakeview
With only two meets lett on the
schedule, the Klamath Falls swim
nring team travels to Lakeview
this Sunday where the host team
will be aiming for its filth straight
win of the season and the visiting
KF squad will be looking for its
initial victory of the year.
The local team treks to Rose
burg the weekend of August 27-28
!or a two-day invitational meet
with approximately five other
clubs from around the state. This
will wrap up the season for the
KFers.
Just prior to the Roseburg meet,
seven swimmers from Klamath
will enter the Junior Olympic
meet at Portland August 27 and
28. The seven will join the rest of'
the team at Roseburg immediate
lv following the two-day affair
' The KF squad of approximately
25 will be entered in a total of
SO events at Lakeview, not includ
ing the diving division. Included
on the roster of coach Stan
Tooke's undefeated Lakeview crew
are the Jarmon sisters, Sherry
and Shelia, Bob Metson, Mavis
Cleaver and Sherrain Arsner.
' Klamath, who is under the
Icoaching of Carolyn Garrison, will
have the following making the trip

Bill Rosensohn To Aooear
Before Boxing Grand Jury
NEW YORK (UPI) - Bill Ro
sensohn, who promoted the first
Ingemar Johansson-Floyd Patter
son bout but has since lost con
trol of his own company, was
scheduled to testify before the
"boxing grand jury" today about
the fight's odd promotional set-up.
Rosensohn was grilled for near
ly eight hours in the oflice of
Dist. Atty. Frank Hogan, re
peating his earlier story of how
he was "forced" to take in two
promotional partners in order to
stage the June 26 bout.
At almost the same time, Fran-
kie Carbo, reputed underworld
boss of boxing, was being ques
tioned in the office of the State
Attorney General Louis J. Kef
kowitz, who also is investigating
the odd goings-on surrounding the
bout in which Johansson knocked
out Patterson to win the heavy
weight crown.
It was the first appearance in
the case for the dapper, smiling
Carbo, who has plenty of other
legal troubles to keep him busy.
Earlier in the day Carbo, who
is awaiting trial on charges of
being an undercover and there
fore unlicensed manager of fight
ers, was the target of a tax war
rant filed in state Supreme Court.
The slender, sun-tanned Rosen
sohn, who returned from a vaca
tion in Europe early Thursday
morning, spent most of his time
Thursday under questioning by
Assistant Dist. Atty Francis X.
Clark.
Rosensohn said he would waive
immunity in testifying before the
grand jury investigating under
world influence in . boxing, be
cause "I have nothing to hide."
Rosensohn flatly denied two
things to reporters Thursday
that there was any question of a
"fix" in the outcome of the fight
itself, and 'that Carbo was the
mysterious "Mr. X" who was
present at a meeting between Ro
sensohn and two known
