TULELAKE Premium hooks
for the 1959 Tulelake Butte-Valley
Fair were mailed last week to
around 600 former exhibitors, Bill
Whitaker, fair manager, an
nounced. The book offers a little.
over $10,000 in prize money.
Some of the divisions are open
to Klamath County for the first
time. These include the parade,
commercial exhibits, dairy cattle
beef cattle, FFA, FHA and 4-H
booth exhibits. Prizes on the booth
txhibits are $60, first prize ; $50,
second; $40, third; $35, fourth and
$30, fifth.
Theme for the fair, scheduled
(or September 12, 13 and 14, is
"Welcome to Fair-y-land." "
New Home Mr. and Mrs. Al
Samples, Bly, are building a new
home in Chiloquin where they will
move when Samples takes over
the position of principal of the
Chiloquin High School.
First Child Mr. and Mrs. Dean
Grcear. Chiloquin, are parents of
their first child, a boy, born at
Klamath Valley Hospital July 30.
He weighed 7 lbs., 14'i ozs. and
was named Phleete Erin. His aunt,
Ellen McAuliffe, Klamath Falls,
is staying with the Greears in
Chiloquin. The paternal grandpar
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greear,
Chiloquin. Maternar grandparents i
are Mr. and Mrs. Michael McAul

In Training at Fort Lewis Is
Richard Morehouse, Fort Rock. He
is spending two weeks as a require
ment (or the Army reserve. Mrs.
Morehouse' and son Ronald' are
visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Houston at Paisley.
Home From Hospital is Jess
Miles of Fort Rock who spent 10
days in traction for treatment of
his back. He was hospitalized in
Bend.
Visiting at the Maurice Ward:
ranch. Fort Rock, is Dick Stingley
of Salem who will spend a week.
California Guests of the Bud
Parks last week were Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Schenke. Julie and
Bobby of Monrovia. Mrs. Schenke
and Mrs. Parks were co-teachers
in Iowa several years ago.
McCloud Don Ragen will take
over the duties of scoutmaster
of Troop 42 about Septemher 1.
John Marker is to be his assistant.
John Peracchino, present scout
master and William Cline, assist
ant, are resigning due to pressing
duties. The McCloud Service Club
sponsors Troop 42.
Lake Weekend Mr. and Mrs.
Garvin Kirby and daughter, Mr.
