AAU Meet
LAKEVIEW - A Lakeview girl.
Sherry Jarman. will compete in
the National AAU swimming and
diving championship meet at Red
ding, July 16-19.
Sherry, 16, .daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence L. Jarman of Lake
view, has been a member of the
Lakeview swim team (or the past
five years. She will enter the 110-
yard free style, 110-yard breast
stroke. 110-yard back stroke and
the 220-yard free style.
She has represented Lakeview at
the Junior Olympics in Portland
during the past two years. Last
year she placed first in the 100-
yard free style, second in the 50-
yard free style, and third in the
200 individual medley.

Forest Service
Transfers Pair
LAKEVIEW A transfer of two
men, Harold Herrin and Ellis Carl
son, was announced this week by
Supervisor Clayton Weaver of the
Fremont National Forest.
Ellis Carlson, who has been as
sistant on the Warner District for
the past two years, is being trans
ferred and promoted to a newly
established position of forest check
scaler. His duties will consist of
giving supervision and training to
all the scaling personnel on the
Fremont forest. During the logging
season approximately 10 scalers
are employed.
Carlson is being replaced as as
sistant on the Warner District by
the transfer of Harold Herrin from
the supervisor s olfice. For the
past several years Herrin has been
administrative assistant in the bush
ness management section of the
forest. Prior to this he was as
signed to fire dontrol activity on
the Mainour National Forest.
