MONTAGUE - Diane Fehlman,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don
Fehlman, Montague, is one of the
five girls competing in the Junior
Queen contest for the eighth annual
junior rodeo and barbecue, sched
uled for Sunday, June 21, at the
Montague rodeo grounds.
Diane is IB. a sophomore at
Yrcka High School. She has rid
den horses since she was about 3,
having gone with her brothers. She
has participated in many rodeo
events in the past .five or six
years, emerging as prize winner on
various occasions.
At present she is co-captain with
the Montague Lancerettes, having
ridden with the group since it was
first organized about five years
ago.

gone she spent a few days with
each of her daughters and their

geles. In Alaska Mrs. Nadlne Roberts
of Etna has received word that her
husband, Robert Roberts, A.3.C. Is
stationed at Elmendorf Air Force
Base at Anchorage, Alaska. Mrs
Roberts and baby plan to join their
husband and father in July.

Millard, 2, was burned fatally
Friday when his clothes caught
fire as he and his sister played
in a shed behind the family ga
rage here.
Police believed the children
may have been playing with
mutches.

Marie, 4, ran crying with alarm
lo her mother. But the boy was
dead by the time the mother got
to him.
The parents are Mr. and Mrs.

1955 for grades one through the
sixth. A later addition brought the

Hatfield inspected the Oregon
Centennial Exposition site north
of here Friday.
He said he was amazed at the
amount of work finished.
The governor had toured (he
grounds several months ago. Aft,

"I've found nothing but optimism
that the exposition work will be
completed on schedule.
The Centennial Exposition and
International Trade Fair will be

picture of Mrs. Ferguson with a
fitting inscription of her long scrv
ice in the school system and her
tireless interest in the youth of
Klamath County, will be presented
to the school.
She lived in Klamath County
from , 1916 until the year of her
death, in 1954. She taught in vari
ous schools and served as county
school superintendent for a time.
Following her retirement' she
continued her active interest in
voung people, working diligently
for the establishment of Esther
Applegate Girl Scout Camp at
Lake of the woods.
She contributed to the success
cf the Red Cross. Public Health
Service, League of Women Voters
and other civic, education and
charitable projects. Her friendships
weie many.
She took part in the rush of
wartime during World War I in
Washington, D.C. and traveled
widely in Europe and South Amer
ica. She served one summer as a
lookout for the forest service. Her
home here was on Link River.

Mrs. Lawrence Mueller is the
new president of the Klamath
County PTA Mothersingers. Mrs.
Mueller was elected at the May
7 meeiing of the Mothersingers to
serve for the ensuing year.
Other officers elected are Mrs.
E. J. Waite, vice president, and
Mrs. R. L. Meyers, secretary-
treasurer. Mrs. Mueller is a mem
ber of Riverside PTA and Mrs.
Waite and Mrs. Meyers are mem
bers of Conger RTA.

ber, 1957, through the Klamath
County Council PTA by Mrs. Earl
Sheridan as chairman and Andrew

PTA units all over Klamath
County give financial support to
the group for their music. The
members also pay monthly dues.
They plan to become a great as
set and service to the community.
They made seven appearances
last school year and have made
15 appearances so far this school
year.
New members and visitors ar
