Yaden, son of Clifford C. Yaden

control technician aboard the de
stioyer U.S.S. Laws in the Pacific
Yaden entered the Navy in June
4957 after graduation from KL'HS.
.'Al Ft. Ord Pvt. Rex Johnston,
53, son of Mrs. Lucille Taalinn
has completed a light vehicle
course at Ft. Ord, California. A
1955 graduate of Bandon High
School, Johnston entered the Army
,in August 1958 and received basic
training at Ft. Ord.
Promoted Robert N. Moon. 18,
on of Mr. and Mrs. Veachel N,
Moon, 221 Princeton Street, had
been promoted to specialist four
with the Third Infantry Division
in Germany. Moon, a tank driv
er, entered Army service in Au
gust 1957. He attended KUHS.
On Cruiser Kenneth E. Stalna
kcr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin
Renn. 1602 Kane Street, is aboard
the heavy cruiser U.S.S. Columbus
in the western Pacific.
Aria Quartet
Sings Tonight
Ticket holders (or tonight's ap
pearance of the San Francisco
Operatic Quartet at the Pelican
Theater w ill be treated to a reper
toire of a spirited musical per
formance by four talented young
people who have won acclaim un
der the direction of Maestro Nino
Cornel, founder and director of the
quartet.
Nino Cornel earned his Ph D in
music in his native Italy and aft-
an active career as a con
ductor, came to America as a di
rector of the Columbia Grand Op
era Companv. He also conducted
for the San Francisco Opera Com
pany for a number of years.
Members of the quartet are Nan
cy ' Cronburg. soprano, Maigot
Blum, contralto, Robert Thomas,
tenor, and Ronald Dutro, baritone.
Particularly appealing to miwic
lovers will be the condensed ver
sion of the well known "Barber
of Seville," by Gioacchino Ros
sini in a new English translation
by Cornel. "Barcarolle" from "The
Tales of Hoffman." Jaques Offen
bach, the "Boat Song," the quar
tet from Rigoletto, Verdi and
the duet from "II Trovatore."
I Act 1VI Verdi are also favorites
on the program.
Admission to the concert is by
season ticket.

to three service clubs this week.
Eugene D. Emunson is sched
uled to address the Toketee Lions
Club tonight (Wednesday), the Ki
wanis Club on Thursday and the
Rotary Club on Friday.
Emunson is vice president of
the Lloyd A. Wilson Service of
San Francisco, a public relations
firm that handles only chamber
ol commerce work.
Emunson. more familiarly known
as Gene, has a considerable back
ground in chamber of commerce
and Diiblic relations work, and
has newspaper and radio experi
ence.
With him is his wife, who serves
as his office manager on assign
ments in the United States and
Canada. The couple expects to le
here until February 20.

Allen Leroy Huff, 20. Medford,
was fined $100 in district court
Tuesday for driving during sus
pended period. Huff pleaded guilty
to the charge. He received an ad
ditional five-day jail sentence V
which was suspended upon pay
