water pockets that are causing
slides in Portland's new four mil
lion dollar hillside zoo.
Work on three zoo projects has
heen halted because of the fear
of new slides on a .20-acre tract
that already has shifted eight inch
es down the hill.
Earlier, an engineer told the
City Council that water pockets
are helping to keep the slide going.
' It was started initially, said

the bottom of the slope for a new

first bird watching tour of the

her with funds from the Klamath County Chapter of the
National Polio Foundation. With the young Klamath Falls

PORTLAND CAP) Northwest
Natural Gas Co. declared divi-
ends Thursday, and said it made
more money in 1958 than in the
preceding year.
Revenues ' trom gas sales to

year," President Charles Guef-
froy said in a statement to stock
holders.
The statement added: "Net in
come of $1,565,000 for the year
1958 showed an increase of $200,-

quarterly dividend for each share
of common stock, and a $1.43 di
vidend for preferred stock.
