Salary Boost

council of the Oregon State Em

fantastic charges made."
The congressional secretary
said there had been no settlement
out of court.
The suit, filed in U.S. District
Court here Nov. 5, said Kjeldahl
interfered with Knutson's marital
rights. It also charged that Kjel
dahl slandered Knutson as "an
impotent old alcoholic. . . ."
The row started last May when
Knutson demanded publicly that

and come home. She refused to do

Urge Quota Hike

Agriculture Department was
urged Tuesday by some big sugar
consumers to boost the 1939 sugar
marketing quota to 9.600.000 Ions
Spokesmen for sugar producers
