TUBE TESTING, how reliable is it? A high
quality tube testei when used by a high qual
ity TV technician will pick out MOST bad
tubes. When his tester shows the tube to be
defective, IT IS.
BUT, many tubes cannot be tested under the
same' vollaqe and current conditions they
are used in the TV set, without o special
laboratory type tester.
SO even tho a qood tube tester will show
tha't a BAD tube is BAD and must be re
placed; it will quite often show a BAD tube
os being GOOD.
Your TV Repairman has the training and ex
perience to know which tube types must be
SUBSTITUTED for a true tube check in your
set. His knowledqe and experience will pay
off for you in preventing expensive damoqe
