SISKIYOU DAR
YREKA A variety of topics, In
cluding a talk on the educational
field, highlighted the recent lunch
eon meeting of the Siskiyou Chap
ter, Daughters of the American
Revolution, recently at the Yreka
Inn.
Anna M. Gricsez of Montague,
86-year-old native of Little Shasta,
and one of the oldest members of
the Siskiyou Chapter, displayed a
framed certificate of her member
ship in the American Flag House
and the Betsy Ross Memorial As
sociation, which she was presented
in 1839, when she was in Philadelphia.
Atlanta Adams, national detense
chairman spoke on the importance
and need for the group to partici
pate in the defense project.
Mrs. Albert Parrot spoke on the
educational field, covering the
problems of curriculum and the
need of adequate buildings.
Hostesses for the afternoon were
Mrs. James M. Allen Sr. and Mrs.
Laura Buckner.
OES NO. 159
FORT KLAMATH On Monday
evening, October 20, a special
meeting of Cascade Crest No. 159,
OKS, was held in the Chiloquin
Masonio Hall to honor Mrs. Elsie
Oliotti, associate grand conduct
ress of the Grand Chapter of Ore
gon, whose home chapter Is Men
prva No. 105. Portland.
A Dotluck dinner preceded the
meeting, with Mrs. Doris Kirchcr
and Mrs. Rosalia Hoback co-chair
men in charge of arrangements.
A colorful Indian theme was at
tractively carried out in hall de
cor and appointments.
Presiding were Worthy Matron
Cordelia Hoback and Worthy Pa
tron Lavton Hoback who intro
duced the honored guest. Also pre
sented were Mrs. Georgia Page,
who is grand Adah of the grand
chapter of Oregon: Mrs. Letha
Murphy, of Aloha Chapter No. 1
of Klamath Falls, who is a mem
ber of the jurisprudence commit
tee of the grand chapter of Ore
gon: and Mrs. Gwen Pierson, wor
thy matron of Aloha Chapter No.
Following a school of instruction
BLY Mrs. David Clemens was
honored with a layette shower at
the home of Mrs. Dale Smith on
October 16. Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Jack
Dillavou and Mrs. August Tikkan-
en were hostesses. Prizes for
games played went to Mrs. Verla
Larson. ,

BRIDAL SHOWER
MONTAGUE Members of the
Montague Lancerettes, their moth
ers and friends, gathered in the
club room of the Montague Audi
torium on Friday evening, Octo
ber 17, for a surprise bridal show
er given in honor of their former
captain, Donna Mays, formerly of
Montague, and now residing in
Dorris. She will become the bride
of James Manton of Weed Novem
ber 27.
Hostesses for the event were
Nola Wheeler, Diane Fehlman,
and Barbara Betts. Guests were
seated at card tables, each cen
tered with a colorful arrangement
of autumn leaves.
The Eift table held a center
niece of a cleverly fashioned white
umbrella decorated with miniature
wedding bells.
A decorated cake made by Ar
lene Sears was served from the
refreshment table decorated with
fluffs of white net built into a
pyramid centered with a crystal
orthlet. hnldine a tinv bridal couple.
Three small wedding bells and
lily-of-the valley formed an arch
over the couple. The centerpieces
were made by Mrs. J. J. Manton
of Weed.
Prizes for games went to Mrs.
Edith Mays, Mrs. Ha Wheeler and
Mary Johnson.
