Her birthstone is the amethyst,
her flower is the violet or the
primrose, the time of her birth
puts her under the zodiac sicn of
Aquarius supposed in the Middle
Arcs to influence human life, giv
ing the Aquarian versatility and
urge for action.
Eva Cook, who holds the office
c( Klamath County treasurer, was
born in Okanogan, Washington,
and schooled in part near the site
of the Custer battlefield1 in Mon
tana, where white headstones on
a rolling hill mark the spots where
heroic men of the United States
Army fought and lost against the
Indians in the country ol tne Lime
Horn and the Big Horn rivers.
She came to Klamath Falls in
1926. has a husband Cyril Cook.
a grown son and grown daughter.

She remembers the stretch of

become the first runwav at the
Kiamath Falls airport since she

Eva Cook started work in the
Klamath County Courthouse in
1952, involved in still more tabu
lations of data in the tax office
and the county clerk's domain. In
1954 she was elected to the office
of county treasurer, a post she now
holds.
If busy people have hobbies, Eva
Cook's hobby is children, and the
organized groups which lay the
groundwork for better young citi
zens.
The family home is at 2415 Wi
ard Street. Husband Cyril is f
lineman (or the Morrison-Knudscn
Construction Company.
She believes that women are
preparing themselves for the lead
ership opportunities that are more
and more coming their way and
that membership in the Business
and Professional Women's Club,
